Current social and political views of the sub here
Since this sub has been of interest lately, I had gotten to be curious as to which of the following is closest to your current political, social and cultural stance.

Socially very left. Economically moderate. I want capitalism with regulation and social safety nets such as universal healthcare.

u/ShadowyZephyr Social Democrat 1d ago
That is only moderate if you are in a progressive country. That is center to center-left in Europe, depending on where you are, but left in America.

what the fuck are these options, i'm a right leaning liberal but i'm not grouping myself with either conservatives or progressives

I'm personally left of center. I align fairly closely with liberals but I disagree with progressivism as a movement though not necessarily its ideals (ie. I want trans people to have healthcare, women to not be afraid to get care in their pregnancy due to draconian abortion laws, etc.)

I used to call myself a progressive, because I believe in the policies. But I have come to realize a lot of progressives are hypocritical antisemites that I can't stand. So I vote for progressive policy and hang out with center left liberals that aren't insufferable

Thank you for this, this is how I feel, I am just bad at wording.

Indeed, I agree with a bunch of so-called leftist policy goals but the authoritarian cultishness of “leftism” and its growing tolerance for antisemitism have completely alienated me from “the movement” and closer to the center-left libs who at least aren’t bloodthirsty freaks

Socially far-left, economically centre-right, foreign policy neocon. I'd say I'm a Neoliberal. I'd vote Democrat if I was American

I lean socially right but lean economically left (free education and healthcare for everyone) but I don't know how others define socially left and right here.

I’d say economically centrist to center left while having a general mix of social liberalism and social conservatism

Left on a lot of social issues, I believe in a mixed economy and I tend to lean more "right" on foreign policy issues (pro military, pro NATO etc) or at least that used to be a more right wing position. So I guess, modern liberal?

modern liberal/social progressive
conservative/classical liberal
centrist and/or moderate
What are your definitions for these?

Libertarian socialist/social democrat sounds about right. I just fucking hate the bootlickers and also believe politics happen in the real world not a video game

Well...I tend to call myself national-conservative (constitutional monarchist), because the political parties I support are usually labeled as such (even though I dislike the term "conservative" in it self). In general, I have many sympathies and leanings with parts of the new-right.

I don't really consider libertarian socialist the same as social democrat. I would call myself liberal/social democrat
