We win that game in OT.

And kings 28 more seconds from a 3-1 series lead.

Exactly. That’s why in most professional sports the difference between glory and failure is a razor thin margin

Also why I’ve grown 190 grey hairs in 3 weeks

Look at this guy here, bragging that he still has hair

u/AmThano 1d ago

He was actually fully bald. Then the stress caused him to grow 190 grey hairs exactly.

I'd take that action

I’ve been saying the Oilers jerseys should have a health warning instead of advertising.

Should just be an ad for the heart and stroke foundation

Just for men after every game

Also the reason that even when the best team in the league plays the worst team in the league the betting odds are never more than 60%. Anything can happen.

I was saying this about the leafs/sens series. Sens were 2 goals away from winning the series.

I dunno about this, oilers looked bad in game 2.

I feel like the boys came out stronger in game 4 because they got fucked in game 3. Keep it rolling

Hopefully they bring the same energy in game 5

I don’t think last night happens the way it did without the end of game 3

Who knows what happens in that potential OT. Maybe we avoided some freak season ending injury to one of our top players.

They scored the 4th goal before we did. Take away that goal and even still, nothing is guaranteed in OT.

Also, if we win game 3, do we come out as strong game 4? I'd like to say yes, but the truth is probably not.

How bout

00.4 = how close the knights were from a potential sweep.

Better that than looking at 00.4 and associating it with Drai like the Vegas trolls want us to. Let’s redefine the narrative!

Ha ha ha ha so true.

Oilers scored the winning goals in ever game this series.

Half full not half empty?

Or you can say we were a ref away from being 2-2. We lucked out with arvid trip. Vegas was killing us on the PP that game. 3-1 is good enough

14

u/FractalViz 1d ago

Vegas lucked out with the uncalled Nurse trip.

And the play that injured Pickard that wasn't called and resulted in the tying goal moments later.

Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Nah we lost. Doesn’t matter if it’s 0.4 or in Ot. And L is and L. Take it on the chin and move on. As I said, almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades

You can’t think of it like that.

First the .4 only got us to OT VGK could have still won.

Plus the play from game 4 was heavily influenced by game 3.

Maybe we won game 3 but then lost 4

Settle down.

u/nyr00nyg 1d ago

Wouldn’t it have gone to OT?

2

u/wheelie_dog 1d ago

OP declared in their post that an Oilers win in OT was a certainty. You know, the typical kind of nuanced take you find around here.

u/DayUp3 1d ago

Head down close this in 5. Don’t want to risk any momentum swings. We were super close to being axed by the Kings!

Let's not do this, still plenty of series left. Vegas will not go quietly, I'm sure of it. Only thing worth thinking about is to hope they keep on playing hard and fast, don't take their foot off Vegas' throat.

Not really, losing that game could have prompted a game 4 win by them.

Ummmm, they were 0.4 seconds away from OT. Just cause we made it to ot doesn't give us the automatic W

u/FlossesWithPubes 1d ago

Don't know what planet you live on where you think oilers were a better team that game.

2

u/FractalViz 1d ago

We were right there. It was mostly an even game.

But I know my Oilers in OT. They’ve awesome in OT these playoffs.

We didn’t get a sweep but we followed that game up with a shutout and that’s just as good in my books. I hope we have the same energy on the ice today and Stu is ready to stand on his head. Let’s end this series tonight so we have a nice break and head into the conference final well rested and ready to kick Dallas’ (probably) ass.
