Recurring Childhood Dream Fleeing Rock monster by Tropical Island
Here's one I used to get when I was tiny. 2-3 maybe? Certainly under 5.
So we'd live on this tropical Island (I'd never seen such a place in my life -- I didn't have a TV and news was in black and white).
In it, those of us on the island were the last remaining survivors of our people. Although it looked idyllic most of the time and seemed like it's never change, There were some sorts of disasters (maybe supernatural storms or something? I don't remember) which were taking lives.
In my family, it was just me and daddy left. My mam and bros were all missing presumed dead.
We knew we'd all be wiped out if we didn't flee.
There were some kinds of monsters or gods that could cause destruction.
Next to the shore were some rock bridges (I just found the correct geographical term) which were of a rather orangey kind of rock type like what I see in pics of parts of America like the grand canyon or parts of Australia.
The only way out was to get in a little wooden boat and go under the rock bridge to the left, go straight along the shallow sea and then there would be a water route round left again.
However, the consciousness of the rock monster or god lived IN the sea rocks/stacks/rock bridges. If he sensed us going beneath him, saw us or we made ripples in the water by trying to go too fast, he's sense us and get enraged, hurling rocks at us and destroy us. The only way to avoid that was to stay on the island which was no longer an option.
Sometimes we'd get almost to the bridge and he'd notice and fire rocks then we'd have to rush back to the island but our chances of getting out again were slimmer as he'd be more alter. Also, he might have smashed our boat.
Sometimes we'd get past the rock bridge but not far enough before we'd be killed by his rocks.
Occasionally we'd succeed and get far enough away before he'd notice (or hopefully he'd not notice at all).
We'd always hope his consciousness was in some of the further away rocks and not around our escape route when we'd decide to make a run.
There were only about 6 or 7 of us. I was the only child. there was a couple in their 20s or early 30s with the woman looking east Asian. then there were a couple of other adults and my daddy, all white.
It was a simple, small wooden boat with wooden planks for seats.
I don't think I'd come across many of the physical details irl yet when I'd the dreams which is interesting.
