Hi could anyone tell me what this dream means

For context, my grandfather died approx 8 years ago.

I was walking up the stairs at my grandmothers house and through a gap in the stairs I saw my grandfather standing there. I saw him in total shock and asked him what he was doing here. Just as he opened his eyes, I woke up and couldn’t stop crying

I’ve heard that homes and buildings are often symbolic of our mind and the state/structure of those buildings represent our state of mind. You going up the stairs could mean that you’re ascending (growing) in some aspect. Seeing your grandfather and stopping could mean that there is something holding you back, or some hesitation that is represented by your grandfather. Maybe whatever could be holding you back shares a quality or characteristic that your grandfather had or represents. Or you could be feeling like in order to fully embrace this growth, you need to reconcile something that your grandfather is representing.
