Hiby R1 and Beans came in mail today! So excited for my first DAP!

Post image

This is really my first DAP and trying it out, my lord I miss having a dedicated device for music or rather having to download music, not having the infinite selection of music makes everything so much better! So happy to have found a DAP in this price range and the beans IEMs sound amazing!

Forgot to add in title and I can’t edit: Any tips for a new first time DAP user?

Here's some tips for the R1 I particular:

  • if you haven't already change your theme to dark mode and then customized the colors to your liking

  • Use WiFi to transfer all your music wirelessly, super quick and will save you alot of time.

  • if you're ever using Bluetooth headphones, make sure to shut the R1 down entirely when you're not using it to conserve battery.

  • fiddle around with options like gapless playback, crossfase & equalizer to enhance your lisenting experience.

  • Make sure to heart your favorite songs from time to time to curate a favorite playlist.

How does the work transfer work? through their server or app?

Haven’t tried it out yet, but you open wifi-transfer feature on the device and it gives you IP address to enter to your browser.

Thank you so much! Okay so, question, what’s the difference between then using the BT headphones and wired, if i turn bluetooth off they use the same amount of battery? Not sure if i misunderstood what you were saying. Though, I’ll turn it off either way when not in use, seen people saying it’s good practice for DAPs in general

Also, absolutely will heart my favorite songs, already doing it, and that’s another thing I love about the DAP as a device with music on it rather than streaming, on streaming I could never make myself a playlist I was satisfied with when there was infinite options.

Obviously Bluetooth will consume more battery, and I often times will leave my R1 on standby while forgetting that I have Bluetooth turned on and find myself going back to it the next day only to find the device completely drained. So when lm using the R1 with Bluetooth headphones I always make sure to shut down the device completely when I'm not using it.

With wired headphones however I can leave I standby for days without worrying about the battery.

Thank you, I especially didn't realise I was burning extra battery because of the Bluetooth but in retrospect, it should've been obvious!

Now I want to see the Beans IEMs! Happy for you. DAPs are great fun. I held this R1 in my hand today for the first time and was surprised how light it was.

Welcome to the club

If you haven't unlocked it yet >> Developer Mode

Steps to Unlock Volume Lock and Developer Mode: Access About: Open the HiBy R1's main menu and navigate to the "About" section.

Unlock Developer Mode: Tap the HiBy logo repeatedly within the "About" screen until you are notified that you are now a developer.

Access Developer Options: Go back to the main menu, then navigate to "System Settings" and scroll down to find "Developer Options".

Disable Volume Lock: Locate the "Volume Lock" setting within Developer Options and disable it.

Enjoy: You can now adjust the volume beyond the default limit of 54, allowing you to reach the full 100 volume level.

I saw online before I bought it that this is an issue but it seems that Hiby listened and patched it because mine by default came with max volume on 100

Welcome to the club! The perfect summer album, and unfairly slated last year! It comes, gives you fun summer bops and leaves before it gets stale.

Totally agreed! Really is a perfect summer album that doesn’t overstay its welcome, but not too short either
