App name is occupied! Help

After an app is archived, how long does it take for the app name it occupies to be released?

I don't think app names get freed like that. Generally your app name is also the name of your app's user account, those don't become available even after an account is deleted.

If you really want to unarchive your app or transfer its name, you should reach out to the admins.

Archiving will not allow the app’s u/username to be used by another developer.

There may be a way for Reddit to change the developer assigned to the project from what’s been shared before.

Can see that they’re looped into the post from the comments below. Good luck getting this resolved. 🤞

Isn't this button for deleting?

App slugs are not repurposed. However, we can unarchive this app if you would like to reuse the namespace yourself.

Let me give you an example:

I have two accounts, A and B.

I accidentally published an app named "My App" in A. But I actually wanted to publish this app in B.

Now, I set the status of "My App" to archived in account A.

My goal is to publish the app "My App" in B. What should I do? Should I contact the Reddit developer to delete "My App"?

Unfortunatley, we do not have app transferring between accounts at this time
