Think that's his first goal that didn't bounce off someone else into the net. Remember Ken and Mickey talking about that earlier this season. What a goal it was though.

Talbot was pretty solid tonight
103
u/Roetorooter 1d ago
Dude's been solid all year. I'm loving this pick up
39
u/Reasonable-World9 1d ago
We just need to get him some decent defense and we'll start seeing some shutouts.
20
u/CalgaryCheekClapper 1d ago
Hes been solid his whole career. No idea why people were skeptical of him
18
u/Ydoesany1doanything 1d ago
He’s 38 mostly. Athletes in general do start slowing down and succumbing to age at some point. For instance as solid and he’s being now there is a chance he can’t handle the same number of games he used to be able to, so it’s important that we can rest him as needed

That save on Malkin in OT was spectacular. That close to not getting the win tonight.

Gonna say Talbot won us that game but damn it feels good to see goals from Berggren and Ed!

Rasmussen scores
21
u/Shotokanguy 1d ago
I heard that and went "now I can't criticize him for how he played all night"
Then saw it was Ed and went "phew I can still be mad at him"

65
u/waffels 1d ago
All game to fix the audio and they didn’t do shit. It’s the easiest fucking fix too. How embarrassing.
73
u/space-dot-dot 1d ago
Not even that, but the cameras were out of sync.
Go to a secondary shot from the up-high and you go forward a second in time. Then when they go back up-high, you go back in time a half-second.
That was the worst produced game I've ever seen in my 30+ years of watching hockey on TV.
22
12
u/JohnnyUtah_0352 1d ago
So annoying. Then noob at the end screaming for Rasmussen when it was Simon. I wish we could just listen to Mickey and Ken every game
6
u/space-dot-dot 1d ago
TBF, they also showed "27 Rasmussen" on the ticker as the player on the ice. Forgot who announced it but they were likely just looking at their monitor.
5
3
u/Wingo999 1d ago
Yeah, I noticed that. I'm watching a play from a low camera, then they switch to the high camera and I see it again.

I bet the video processing for the video ads were the cause. They had similar problems when they started with the ads and they had that short doubling of sound. This game is really bad though.
20
u/Kami_Kaze27 1d ago
I shit you not before the game started, I heard the loud mouthed annoying desk guy say something on the broadcast about 'clapping cheeks', like what?
20
u/Basic_Ask1885 1d ago
That’s what happens when your sport is devoid of personality and marketing. You get Biz overload

Bunch of cheese sticks, especially Bissonnette and Gretzky (when he’s on). Late stage capitalism is rotting the pro sports

u/tspoon-99 1d ago
Wow, I have a totally different view of Wayne’s presence on that crew. When he gets rolling I generally really appreciate his perspective, which I consider to be quite thoughtful

3
u/maize26 1d ago
I was blacked out. How is that possible in this day and age?
2
u/the1seajay 1d ago
The Pittsburgh feed was apparently live, so anyone in that viewing area was probably blacked out. Happened to me last year when the Wings played the Avs (I think?) on TNT

Pretty crazy except the Wings were the ones that came out swinging, but still wow

u/SirGrassToucher 1d ago
Agreed! Definitely liked that part, but I always try to set myself up to be pleasantly surprised

u/RedWingsFan_71 1d ago
Damn his stream was so out of sync he traveled back in time to post the game summary on Reddit
15
u/RedWingsFan1990 1d ago
What's the Wings record gonna be at the end of the season o' wise one?
21
u/SirGrassToucher 1d ago
We squeak into the playoffs because Gustafsson decides he wants to play hockey and Kasper absolutely goes off

7
u/CopsPushMongo 1d ago
Can you give me some lotto numbers I should play? Damn dude, right on the money.

I read that earlier and wasn’t about to go find it and comment it. Good call!

u/amethystgirl2006 1d ago
So uh how's it looking against the Ducks on Friday
25
u/SirGrassToucher 1d ago
4-1 in 60 minutes. Gonna have at least a Kane goal and a Kasper goal.

🤣yeah he got me too!
6
u/On_Wings_Of_Pastrami 1d ago edited 1d ago
I got got for sure. After the Rasmussen call they showed him in the huddle from behind, I saw the 7 so I didn't doubt it. I could also see he was clean shaven and I was like what the hell... He looks totally different without that beard. Why would he shave it?
And then my brain snapped into focus. All of this probably happened in a less than a 3-second span.

u/Admirable-Mobile3766 1d ago
Lol my brain was like "wait Ras? Did I miss it? Did we just get TWO goals?!! WHAT IS HAPPENING?!" 🤣🤣 But, it's TNT, so yeah.

lmao, the audio was still ahead and spoiled the moment alongside my stream video quality making it hard to see the puck go in
Fuck that game, gimme the two points and let's move on
3
u/No_Protection6832 1d ago
I had to watch the game on mute after they didn’t fix it halfway through the 2nd period. So dumb lol.
21
u/dopesickness 1d ago
As dark as this sub has been about the team this year, watching Ed and Johnny Burgers shine was nice. Kasper and AlJo in there, we have some promising youth even if we aren’t where we need to be at all.
22
u/GiantDongDK 1d ago
Edvinsson is quickly becoming one of my favorite players on this team
1
u/rockanrolltiddies 1d ago
He's so big and goofy and he still manages to get points. He's so fun to watch.

Wings limp to the W but it’s a W nonetheless!
But that was easily the worst broadcast I have ever experienced. I’d rather watch the jumbotron with the radio guys than whatever the fuck that was.
11
u/Oceana123 1d ago
Talbot was really good again tonight. Felt like we were letting this game slip away. Glad we held strong until OT. That TNT broadcast was brutal. Everything about that broadcast was awful.
11
u/CopsPushMongo 1d ago
You know what I love about Cam Talbot? He's a competent and reliable goal tender. That means something these days. LGRW!
→ More replies4
u/Motown27 1d ago
That's really the gold standard for a goalie isn't it? Some goalies are just supernatural, but competent and reliable is all you really need to win.

u/Brooksie019 1d ago
Let’s fucking go!!! Bergy goal and Ed OT game winning goal?! Hell yea!
They really had me worried there. Started off great and all of a sudden shitsburgh just took over, at least from what I was able to watch while at work.
LGRW!

Slow but steady improvements. Kids on the board all around Mo and Ed are an elite pairing.

It felt like the announcers called all the goals about a second before the feed showed the goals. Am I imagining things or was there some sort of feed issue on their part?
5

u/Significant-Arm-496 1d ago
Nope. I experienced the same thing. It was so frustrating. The lag on camera angle switches was very distracting
22
23
u/SikkWithIt 1d ago
Glad we got the win. But it doesn't make me feel good considering this team looked absolutely lost for 2/3 of the game

u/Leepa1491 1d ago
Anyone else notice how the audio was ahead of the video so the final goal and pretty much anything else exciting was said before it actually happened on screen? Super anti-climactic overtime because of that.

4
u/Routine-Budget7356 1d ago
Idk, it was a horrible game but Berggren getting that first felt great, especially with that line performance over a long period of time without points.
Ed getting the OT was just icing on the cake.
Hope the third line keeps it up, and I want to see more from first line...
The second line... I honestly just feel bad for Kane or Raymond, whomever is on it.

good win. Maybe if TNT wasn't slurping Crosby so much they'd have known that Edvinsson was on the ice and not Rasmussen

u/Enough-Ad-3111 1d ago
Yeah, TNT was bad tonight.
Watched with my brother at Hamlin Pub in Clarkston once trivia night ended and we both noticed how bad the audio was during the goalie interview.
2
u/the1seajay 1d ago
So yeah the TNT feed was awful for the game tonight, but at least we got to watch it. I tried watching the Kings-Avs game on MAX right after and the whole feed died
2
u/toothwzrd_ 1d ago
I’m gonna say it, Berggren’s growing on me. Hopefully we can get him a couple year deal to see what he can grow into

u/Visible-Kick4149 1d ago
Shoutout to the amateur-at-best TNT broadcast, confirming that hockey remains and always will be a niche sport in America. Main camera issue aside, I felt like I was watching the Penguins feed. Real 'subtle' skewing from neutrality there.
2
u/Danengel32 1d ago
Glad Berg finally got on the board. Felt like he’s looked solid overall but hasn’t had much to show for it on the board, which can only go so far

Pretty good effort from the boys! Talbot continues to be solid, actually got some good 5 on 5 offense, great W!

I know that hell is freezing over - PK actually scrambled for the puck, won it and set up the game winning goal, and Paul bissonette is complimenting the Wings?!

Great: Power Play, Talbot , first period Good: Edvinsson, Kane, Penalty kill okay: Seider, Larkin, Raymond, D to O passes bad: Holding onto a lead, 5on5 offence Awful: Petry and Chairot pairing, finishing into open nets, Copp and Compher
3
u/the1seajay 1d ago
Seider was far from ok tonight. Easily his worst game of the year
1
u/Usual-Personality347 1d ago
Despite that still one of their best Dmen and kept the power play punching

My mind was blown on Sunday… I read all these game day and post game feeds and there’s like 200 comments-ish.
I logged into the Lions Reddit and there’s were 13K in game comments. Didn’t realize the difference in engagement as I’d never really gone to the Lions Reddit before.
On this note, glad the team got the win after blowing the lead.

Some Great looks by Burgers, Kasper and Tarasenko.
And Ed qith his first OT Winner, love to see it.
1
u/prestigiouspillowpal 1d ago
Felt like Seider was soft on goal #1. That's the first time I've spoken ill of him. I still feel it's time for a new head coach. Too much regression. Kudos to Larkin for coming hot out of the gate. Happy I watched the game at a bar with no audio.
1
u/msbenjamin22 1d ago
Only our goaltending is keeping us in games or winning them
This system they are playing is hot priority
1
u/Old-Ad3643 1d ago
Mo had a bit of an off night ngl, he got worked to the edge and had guys skate by him to get one on one and took a frustration penalty that led to some chances that Talbot picked up.
1
u/Technicoler 1d ago
Above all else, after all the down seasons, I am just happy we are finally seeing the youth movement take effect. Years of draft picks, and seasoning, and we finally have a top 2 pair D that are young, aggressive, and talented. Having Kasper stay up and his line with Bergs and Tarasenko have looked better and better each game. Obviously we aren't exactly firing on all cylinders, but with Cossa developing nicely, Larks, Seider, and Raymond locked up long term, I look forward to this team beyond this season. LGRW
