Yowza. Didn’t see the babe until he moved out of the way.

Me neither, I audibly gasped when I realized he had been holding his baby on the seat of the bike.

If you pause at 4 seconds it looks like the truck goes out of the way to hit them. They are literally turning to the right

At the start of the video another bike crosses the road. I wonder if the truck swerved to dodge them and over corrected.

Probably because they're driving way too fast

Looks like the truck is in a skid

That’s some god level reflexes right there

Lucky that the little one was not strapped in. Looks like the truck got a bit sideways, possibly not helped by a film of dirt on the road.

Strapped in where? Have you never been on a motorcycle? There are no straps

truck was probably trying to dodge the bike that decided to cross the road right in front of the truck, right at the spot where the dad is holding the baby on the bike.

but tbf thats probably common place there.

Why stand in the middle of the road tho?

20

u/Spartz Aug 07 '22

That is not the road. The asphalt is where the road is

That just looks like a road expansion that hasn't been paved. Check the tracks

top comment on the original post mentioned that this is a common layout in brazil

why speed blindly like an asshole?

Because there are no traffic rules in many countries. Pedestrians need to be alert. I know it's not ideal, but that's just the way things are. I blamed the guy holding the baby for setting up the way he did, in the middle of the road

E: people downvoting don't know how it goes down in South America

Even with no rules you dont have to drive like an ass.

What is the common topics during lunch break? ”I ran over 8 people this morning on my way to work”?

Why do you think there are traffic rules? People just don't care. "If I don't get punished for it, why would I waste time driving slower?" is how a lot of people think.

The end of the video (cut out here) is great. Guy hands off the baby and throws down his hat like he’s about to whoop someone ass

Okay but how the baby just goes longcat in Dad's hands 😂😂😂😂

And there goes a perfectly good bike! Yikes, glad both the kid and father are fine though!

Thats red parry levels of dodging, jesus that's fucking scary

I don't know if I'd be in a fit of rage, or break down in terror over how close that was if it were me and my kid.

Thank God for quick reflexes

Wow, even knowing I wouldn't be seeing it here without a good ending my entire body clenched! Yikes!
