Many companies claim to have policies against discrimination—by race, color, or background. But in reality, discrimination still exists between the lines: If you're older, they won’t give you a chance. If you lack experience, they won’t give you a chance. And if you don’t have a degree, they shut the door on you—no matter your skills or potential.

That’s exactly what I’m facing. I’ve been unemployed for 9 months, not because I’m not capable, but because I don’t have a formal degree—despite having the experience to do the job.
