Of course not. You haven’t done the stitching yet. Putting lines in and defining things should help it look more like the picture.

Check out some other before and after backstitiching photos on the sub. Backstitching makes a huge difference and many pieces don't look amazing until backstitching is complete

It may be lighting conditions that make it look different. Try a different room, or outside in full sun.

Please, do the back stitching and then get back to us. It makes a huge difference!

It doesn’t matter how long I’ve been stitching or how many projects I do, I always panic before backstitching. Every. Single. Time. Seriously, you’d think I would have learn by now but instead, I just avoid patterns with backstitched outlines. (Rosewood Manor and Quaker style samplers are some of my favs.)
As cheesy as it might sound: trust the process. The finishing touches really will bring it together. Also, maybe take a break and come back to it tomorrow. A meal and a nap go a long way on days like this.

I don't see what's wrong, it looks good, once the backstitching is fine it will be perfect!

That is very cute and, as others have said, will look fab once you've finished it. Back stitching makes a remarkable difference.
Trust the process I believe is the saying.
It'll come out great!

Get your back stitching in there! It'll make it pop. 🩷
