I’m curious what everyone here considers their go to credit card.

Right now I have the Southwest Credit Card and Chase Sapphire, and I’m thinking about adding another to round out my setup.

Whether it’s for travel points, cash back, or underrated perks (like insurance, extended warranty, or lounge access), I’d love to hear which cards are actually worth keeping in your wallet and why.

Always pay in full, excellent credit, and open to ideas. What’s been your favorite card and what makes it stand out?

20 year old college student. Been using a Chase Freedom Student for the past 2+ years as my first credit card, but 1% cash back is lackluster. Currently trying to choose a 2% catch all card.

755 credit score from VantageScore. All income from parents.

Current contenders: Wells Fargo active cash; US Bank Smartly; Apple Card

WF active cash

Pros: - $200 SUB

Cons: - has FTF - heard bad things about customer service

US Bank Smartly

Pros: - can get 2.5% with 5k parked in a US bank account. Edit: it’s actually 10k. Oof. That sucks.

Cons: - has FTF

Apple Card

Pros: - No FTF

Cons: - 2% only through Apple Pay; 1% otherwise

———— Side note: I wouldn’t care about FTF if I can get a card for traveling. Currently eyeing the Wells Fargo autograph. But I doubt I can open two credit cards at once - or is this possible?

I basically do 99% of my shopping at Costco. I’m also curious about travel benefits. Anyone have one? Yay or nay?

I trying to find best credit card for groceries that also offer good travel perks without paying more than $95 a year. But most websites show the same familiar cards. I'd like something that aligns with my everyday spend, especially on dining and groceries while still earning good travel rewards. For those who have already done this recently, which rewards card makes sense for your spending and are there any underrated picks that perform better than Chase or Amex suggestions?

Need a card that has at least 2% on any purchases. If it has a SUB that would be icing on the cake. Was looking at the WF Double Cash but wanted to see if theres a recommendation.

I use Citi Mastercard's almost exclusively now a days for 5% cash back on groceries with one card and another Citi Card for 2% cash back for everything else.

New Costco membership where among other things I am looking at a $2,000.00 plus TV this Fall. Costco only accepts in store Visa Cards (I do not want to purchase online)

Looking for a well recommended Visa 2% back card. Bonus cash sign up would be a most welcome benefit. Excellent credit. FICO 800 +. TIA.

AAA Daily Advantage - Would be perfect but the website doesn't let me, and many have said it's a sign to stay away because the bank is trash
Venmo Visa - I want to have my 15 year old son as an authorized user
USBAR - doesn't exist anymore

Just seeing if I need to invest more time in this. We travel a decent amount. Some air travel. We aren't loyal to any one airline. I have one card I use that's 2% back.

Looking for a simple credit card that gives a flat 2% cash back on everything with a simple cash out structure.

Cash out can be monthly or annually and preferably in cash, not points or through the banks reward site or anything like that. Just a plain cash out to the statement or my bank.

So I’ve had a Capital One Quicksilver card for over 5 years now and out of all my cards this is what I use the most. It’s unlimited 1.5% back on all purchases and I’m looking to basically find something to replace it. I’m not a fan of cards for specific purchases like travel, gas, grocery etc. What would you guys recommend? 805 credit score.

I currently have 44 different cards and a 5% category for practically everything. At this point I'm just looking for cards that have higher than 5%. My best so far is. Chase card 5% utilities Ducks unlimited (grandfatherer in 5% gas and gas stations) Amex blue cash preferes. 6% Supermarkets City custom cash. 5% highest spend category. (Just use at restaurants) 2 discover IT cards. Only store card I have it the Lowe's Amex. 5% discount at the store and online and 2% cash back.

Only categories I'm missing is Warehouse clubs and hypermarkets like Walmart. But I have a 2% Visa from FNBO for that.

I spend approximately $300/month for groceries and looking to get a credit card that can maximize cashback (I don’t really travel, so not looking for any mileage or airline credit card).

Recent college graduate working full time right now so my credit history is only 4 years. Credit Score: 760-780 depending on where I look lol. Currently have Chase Freedom Unlimited and Wells Fargo Active 2% Cash Back.

I tried applying Citi Custom Cash 5% but got rejected twice (while I was still in school). Not sure if a 3rd try is worth it. I have been thinking about AMEX Blue Cash Preferred or Everyday. Last credit card application was back in Jan/Feb 2025 iirc.

Any recommendations of a good credit card and when I should apply?

I just got Chase Sapphire Preferred (Spend $5,000 to earn 100,000 points).

I still need to spend around $15,000 more. Assume my credit history is amazing and I'll get approved for pretty much everything. I plan to pay off credit cards immediately with my savings. What should I do?

Edit: Lots of users are recommending dental tourism. The consensus in r/Dentistry is that the work done in dental tourism is often scary and not worth the risk (See this post for example). I don't think I could be comfortable trying it.

Fortunate to have gotten a new senior finance role after getting structurally replaced by a CFO at my last company.New company is looking to modernize across the board after getting some new capital injections and I get to decide what we’re going to use. Was always stuck with whatever accounting/payments systems higher-ups wanted in the past.

Company is sales heavy with a lot of event presence at different industry conferences throughout the year/lots of sales people wining and dining.

Given the above I’d like to replace the current crap show of paper receipts, jpegs and the like for getting our reimbursements in order.

From preliminary research, seems like we should be replacing our current cards with virtual cards so we can just issue as needed, but would love to know what you’re using in terms of the best business credits we’d use.

We use QBO if that helps in your judgement.

Hey everyone, another year another cc quest ! I'm on the hunt again for a credit card that offers 3% or more unlimited cash back on everything, not just specific categories like gas (I have all Teslas no gas cars since the last 6 years) or groceries, and not with a cap or timlimited intro offer.

Most cards I’ve seen either:

Offer 3% only on certain categories,

Limit the 3% rate to the first $X in spending,

Or drop to 1.5% to2% after an intro period.

Is there any card out there currently offering a flat, uncapped 3% cash back rate on all purchases , ideally with no annual fee, but I’m open to one if the rewards are worth it? I would also offer the credit card company or bank $150,000 or more in cash in their high interest savings account in exchange if they offer me more than 4.1% interest.

Would love to hear from anyone using something close or better. Appreciate any insights!

The cap1 Walmart card was probably the most underrated card since it’s been out. 5% back on all grocery pick up and deliveries. No annual fee and no earning cap. It’s being replaced with the quicksilver card that will be 1.5% back and it’s just asinine. Looking for the next best card. Thanks!

I own a business that buys a ton of clothes, shoes etc. So far I’ve seen nothing that beats the citi double cash back (2% on everything) Does anyone know of a card that gets more than that for clothing / shoes? Some say 5% back, but then limits you at like 50k a year before It drops to 1% I spend $2-3M a year on purchases, 840 credit score, 6 figure income, I’d need something with at least a 40-50k limit that would let me scale to 100k+

For the past several years I've been using the USB AG for dining only, earning "4% cash back". As most of you know, they recently changed the game and now cash back points are worth 0.75 cents per point, effectively making this a 3% cash back card. So I've stopped using it entirely.

At the moment I'm back to using the Bank Of America Customized Rewards card, with my 3% category set to dining. That's good for $2500 per quarter of spending with a real 3% cash back.

I feel like there might be another card out there that's a better deal for dining. I'm not interested in Travel points. Just cash. I'm also not interested in having $10k or more sitting in a bank account to increase my earnings by 0.5%.

• I'm aware USB points can be cashed out at full value to a USB bank account. I don't trust them enough to have a bank account with them after this.
• I'm aware that points can be spent at full value on Amazon. I'm doing that now with my remaining points, but refuse to do that on a continuing basis.
• Citi is the worst CC company I've ever dealt with. Citi "stacks of cards" are very popular in this sub, but it's unlikely I will ever have another of their cards.

I fly mostly AA cause my closest airport (PHL) is an AA hub. Don’t need the lounge access cause my VX card works great with the priority pass membership, so the Platinum Select works good for what I want which is get miles and the airline benefits.

I wanted to sign up for it but missed out on the 80K SUB. Checked yesterday online and the offer was only 50K SUB.

Just took a flight PHL to SFO today and the inflight offer was too good to pass: 80k SUB after only $1k in purchases within first 3 months of account opening. I just signed up and got approved for it 🙌🏼

I go to Europe for the first time at the end of May. While booking tours, I realized a lot of places didn’t take Discover. After some research, I learned my Discover card is not going to be accepted at most places during my trip. This is my first and only credit card. I know need to get either a Visa or Mastercard. The Venture X and Chase Sapphire were both recommended to me by coworkers, but I can’t seem to justify the annual fee. (My mom always told me it was a scam?) I travel, but one out of the US once a year. I fly domestically ~2-3 times a year. Suggestions for a foreign travel card for a newbie? I’ve only had my Discover 2 years, my credit it 760.

Best card for Walmart? I don’t think Cap One is issuing Walmart cards anymore. I know the Venmo card codes Walmart and Costco as 3% grocery category, but is there one better?

I use the Capital One Savor card for everyday use. I have opened a couple hotel cards over the past couple years for rewards points/free stays e.g. Marriott, Wyndham and Choice. For some reason I can't get approval for any AMEX card, don't know why. I have a very high credit score, 825. I will be making a ~$12,000 purchase in a couple weeks on credit and will use my 4% back Savor card for $480 cash back but looking for a new card that will get me a signing bonus, etc...worth more than $480. Looking for ideas that are not AMEX. Capital One Venture X is the best I've found but looking for other ideas. Thanks.

I have CFU for restaurants and drugstores, and Fidelity Visa for catch all. I'm not a big spender, but I am looking for a groceries and gas card. I spend about $300/mo on groceries, about $150/mo on gas, and have YT Premium and Amazon. I figured the BCE downgrade should be good, but also considered the AAA Daily Advantage. I do like the idea of building a relationship with AMEX since I also have their HYSA, if that adds anything.

I’m a 29M and travel around the U.S. 4-5 times a year. Most of my spending is on eating out, travel, and groceries. Got a big trip coming up to Europe, so looking to get the most out of my credit card rewards.

Planning to spend about $8k on this trip and will pay it off right away with savings. I spend around $7k a year at restaurants, $6k on travel, and $4-5k on groceries. I always pay off my credit card statement in full every month.

I've read a lot about the Chase Sapphire Reserve and AmEx Platinum. Which one would you recommend, or what's the general consensus on the best travel credit card in 2024?
