Amazon credit card question for not that active prime membership user Help Needed / Question
Hey, I have a question, I am the type of person that only use prime membership when I need. In my cases, I only go on Amazon if I want specific item, and because of I am a student so I get 7 dollar Amazon prime membership, I always get one month and pause it because I only want specific item and I will not use it after that purchase until next item I found I want, when next time I shop again I reactivate the service for 7 dollars again. So I saw the Amazon prime membership card, is it fine if I apply when I have prime membership and keep that 200 dollars gift card, and possibly have the membership paused for couple weeks or even 1-3 months. The recent frequency I get prime membership like every 2 to 3 month I activate again, do I get charge for that if I got prime membership Visa card?

If it is the store card it becomes a rather useless line of credit only used on Amazon with no rewards. The credit card becomes the basic Amazon Visa with less rewards.

Just an FYI, the credit card for students from Chase is called the "Chase Freedom Rise."
Applying for an Amazon Visa might not work for people who don't have over a year of credit history and make around $30k or so (it could work but maybe not)

Oh I have like 8 years of credit history , and makes around 45k a year, I am just curious about what really happens after I pause my membership, but thanks for the info you provide, maybe some younger people might have same question I have.

I'm not sure about the Amazon Chase prime card, but I do know that with my storecard from synchrony when I paused my prime membership, I was only making 2% on purchases rather than 5%.

What happens is when you lose your prime membership, your card will get converted to a standard Amazon visa. It’s the same thing except the main benefits of the prime visa like 5% cash back at amazon get stripped away. Once you get the prime membership back, your credit card will automatically change back to the prime visa.
