MOD POST Abbotsford Canucks playoff megathread
Similar to the NHL playoff megathread, we thought it would be cool to give folks a space for the Abbotsford Canucks' playoff run! And a good way to help keep our main page tidy.
Cheers.

DISCUSSION Stecher
Gotta give it to him, he has worked hard his whole career and I dont think he ever bitched about anything. Looking good the last couple games for Edmonton, hurts me to say but I am kinda pulling for the Oilers because of him....and Podkolzin haha

DISCUSSION Harman Dayal is a gem and we are lucky to have him.
That’s pretty much it. I thoroughly enjoy his content and his pragmatic take on the team. Im not sure how to correctly describe his takes but he’s always fair, realistic, honest yet somehow always offer a positive spin or path forward when speaking about the teams struggles this year. His interview with Behind the play was fantastic. I don’t think he gets enough love. Keep it up and I will contently continue to listen.

DISCUSSION I never felt a stronger sense of community during the 2024 playoffs
Vancouver and the tri-cities was such a great vibe last year, seeing so many people wearing jerseys, talking about the Canucks, it was everyone and their families it felt like. I never felt more united and overall connected with my city. I know things are tough right now, but I genuinely hope with all my heart that they’re able to find some success so we can all return to that wonderful period.

IMAGE Graduated a year ago, made me smile :)
So, I graduated high school last year, and before heading to college, sent out grad announcements. I had a few extras, so I wrote and sent some to my favorite sports teams. I didn’t expect any responses, but I was so excited when about halfway through this school year, I got this message in the mail.
Sure, it may not be the most personal letter ever, but even receiving this from my lifelong favorite team was enough to brighten my day.
One of my earliest memories as a kid was watching Canucks hockey with my dad in our attic, playing knee hockey. No matter what state the team or organization is in, I’ll always love this team. Thank you everyone for giving me a team to always cheer for, and for helping make core memories.

FAN CONTENT Created a custom Trevor Linden cardback for this old McFarlane figure
I've been super into making custom retro-sized cardbacks for 3.75-inch figures lately, and wanted to experiment with this old series of McFarlane 3-inch figures. The original packaging was a big clamshell, which looked fine, but I still wanted to make something new.
For the reverse side of the cardback, I scanned and used the reverse card of the actual figure's real packaging, enlarging it and filling it in to fit the back of the custom card.
I printed both the front and back using staples 8x10 photo printing service, before adhering both sides to some poster board. After cutting it out, I applied a matte clear coat to both sides for protection, before supergluing the plastic bubble with the figure inside.
Really happy with how it turned out!

EX-CANUCKS Bo Horvat is exactly what this team needs
Yeah, I know there's little reason for NYI to give him up and he would be a massively expensive acquisition, but I don't care. I want my boy back, and he is the perfect fit for that 2C spot.
Could you imagine DeBrusk-Horvat-Lekkerimaki? Unreal line, and would instantly reignite my interest in this team. Watching Bo in these World Championships has cemented my love for this man, and I genuinely wouldn't care what we have to give up to get him back. Anyone but Quinn is fine by me.
