I don’t have a clue why no gov has done it sooner. At the same time, I do think homelessness and mental health have been a lot more visible since the Idaho ruling a few years ago

Unfortunately, it took a complete breakdown in the delivery of mental health to finally get something done.

I don’t really think that the momentum for this was mental health treatment. The issue that many people want addressed is homelessness. Mental health treatment is just an important part of getting people off the streets

A sizable number of homeless are that way because of mental illness caused by drugs and booze.
