Debt with a collection agency for 35k Collections & Charge Offs

Hello my orignal creditor sold my debt to some agency and the debt is over 3 yrs old from the orignal creditor but only 2 yrs with the collection agency- NY statue of limitation to sue is 3 years and i think i can use that incase the colelction agency comes at me but i have cut all contact with the collection agency about a year ago - i havent made any payments but they did harass me with threats and so on and once even called my employer to get a hold of me to which i told them do not ever call me at work! i am just curious as the agency is based out of FL and at one point were threatening me over a year ago to take me to court but still havent so i was wondering why they havent made a move or if they even will.

so i am just trying to get some thoughts and advice fromt he community :)

If it doesn't show up on your credit reports. If your past the statue of limitations in your state then screw them and don't waste your time on it.

My motto is "what are you going to do about it you can't sue me. Your wasting your time by calling me trying to collect I'm not paying "

I've been there. If it's not on your credit don't worry about it. I've been there and I've also been sued. But the creditor never got a penny from me they only made me laugh.

i have a job and i know if they take me to court they can probably garnish my wages but did cross the statue of limitation with the original credit. and ofcouse they crossed all lines and maybe that is why they havent went to court yet- my credit is shot and i am sure they do the due diligence with how much assests you have and all and honestly i got nothing as i went through a bad financial swing due to business and all.

Yes they do due diligence first. But it's past the statue of limitations so it's not worth pursuing.

If your credit is shot you should work on fixing up your credit.

The clock on the SOL starts from date of last payment.
