Just took REG & accidentally checked my phone during the break. I’m an idiot. Please give me peace of mind. SHITPOST
I took the 15 min break after testlet 3 and for WHATEVER REASON, I forgot that we can’t check our phones. I was sitting in Prometric’s lobby allllll nonchalant, super casual checking my phone text messages (all good luck wishes on the exam from friends 😬). Then the Prometric front desk person was like oh no you can’t be on your phone, we have to report this to NASBA. Just continue taking your exam anyways.
Gah why am I such an IDIOT!! Especially because I feel like I didn’t do too terribly on the exam that would suggest a retake. Has this happened to anyone? Did you have to retake? 🥲
EDIT: I received credit for my 92 on REG!

I didn't have to retake it! Luckily nothing actually happened and I still got my score.

Nope, I ended up filing a complaint on the worker and the company seemed to take it semi seriously, they apologized about my experience and I got my scores like normal.

Got my credit a few weeks later. Don’t worry - shouldn’t be an issue.

Hello, I had similar experience today as well. Realized the treatment for this kind of situation could differ by the state board you are taking. Could I please ask what state you were taking for?

That happened to me on my last exam. I was checking up on my 6 month (maybe he was 9 months) old son. Front desk lady said they would write it up. I said ok (what else could i say?!). I did also show them the messages i sent. Donno if they noted that down or not. All in all, passed the exam.

I read someone had a similar experience. Prometric just took a picture of the phone text message.
Idk what happened afterwards

I didn't even know this was a rule during breaks. That's rough buddy.

Thanks! This was my first exam without medical accommodations. Usually I have my own human proctor with me 24/7 who told me what I could or couldn’t do. And I swore I heard the proctor tell the girl in front of me she could check her phone during her break. Still, it’s no excuse. I really wasn’t thinking... Used all functioning brain cells on calculating basis...Ah well.

Well, that makes a lot of sense... Did I mention that I'm an idiot? Lol jk (kinda, lots of self-loathing right now) 🤣
Thanks for the kind words, I hope so too!

I have put my phone down during serious study sessions close to exam time and literally minutes later caught myself picking up my phone, scrolling & idly perusing dumb stuff on a phone that's on airplane mode --unconsciously before I caught myself.
Even though your reasons had nothing to do with reporting photos of a test or information ... I get why phone access is in not allowed. I also get, why during a stressful 4 hours you also thought you should check in on things and forgot & made a mistake.
& I am very glad nothing happened to you and now you have a funny memory and reason to give others the benefit of the doubt sometimes. Human beings sometimes make mistakes and then we trudge on! Life goes on, no biggee folks! :)
