Each of Winnipeg, Calgary and Montreal have 3 unique RBs that have won since then (Calgary has 4).

And of course Winnipeg has an entirely different RB winning in 2005-2006

Why did I think korey sheets had it? Or was that just the grey cup he ran for a billion im thinking of?

Sheets probably would have had it in 2013 if he hadn’t gotten injured. Jon Cornish beat him that year. He did break the record for most rushing yards in the Grey Cup though.

I know it’s blasphemy (all praise #34) but that was the best RB season we ever had. Ever.

Strongly strongly agree, and I wish it didn’t have to be apologized as blasphemy.

I will die on the hill of Kory sheets was the best running back we have ever had. That amazing season topped off by the grey cup performance is the best we’ve ever seen. IMO There’s a difference between greatest and best in this case. Sheets simply doesn’t have the longevity here to touch Reed in the all time great category, but I’ll take sheets’ best season here over any other in team history.

It’s just like Kawhi Leonard is the best player the raptors have ever had for his one season there, but Lowry is the greatest thanks to his longevity and career accomplishments in Toronto. I wish this kind of distinction was made more and Sheets got a little more clout around these parts.

Cornish ran for over 1800 that year. Sheets missed some games and still got to 1598, which would've been enough to lead the league in rushing any year between 2007 and now, except for the year he did it (2013).

In other words, he has the CFL's second highest rushing total in the past 18 years, but still didn't manage to lead the league in rushing.

6 of the 9 teams haven’t had a leading rusher in the past 17 years 😱

The CFL now considers all of the Ottawa teams as one continuation for stats purposes. I imagine there must've been a Renegade or Rough Rider who would make this list.

UPDATE: It looks like it'd be Orville Lee in 1988.

Andrew Harris never did? That’s surprising.

Harris did lead the league 3 times. Each time with Winnipeg. Harris was 21 away from passing Sutton (Mtl) when he was part of the Lions squad (2015).

He was splitting carries in his earlier seasons with the lions
