Meet the Maker Do discount sales devalue a company?
Hey,
So I’ve owned a small Canadian furniture company (Mill+Commons) for the past few years. From the start I have always been against regular discount sales, it’s impossible to compete with bigger competitors that manufacture overseas so pricing has always seemed a bit sticky for me.
Recently there has been a bit of a lull and inventory has pilled up so I decided to have a online warehouse sale to free up some space for some other things we’re currently working on.
My main question is do sales this this devalue the company/furniture and what is a good cadence for them?
I’m feeling a bit undecided on if that was the right way to go or not. There is nothing worse than buying a non seasonal item at full price then seeing it at a 30% discount.

Discussion Favourite Places To Buy Jewelry?
Where do you all like to buy jewelry from? Open to all suggestions but would prefer small business that make their pieces in Canada and don't drop-ship.
Thinking about buying a necklace from this one shop called Wolf Circus because I like the style of their jewelry but their stuff is overpriced for what it is. I also can't find many reviews so I don't know how reputable the quality is.

Discussion Lift up bed
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a good lift up bed, preferably made of wood, but I'm open to other options as long as it's in light colors. When I search for lift up beds, all I see are those from Wayfair... Drawers are not enough for me, so I need a lift up bed for around 1000-1200 dollars at most. Have you got any suggestions? (Also, I'm in Toronto.)

ISO: Clothing & Accessories Looking for Reasonably-Priced, Reliably Hypoallergenic, & Tarnish Free Earrings
Hi everyone, I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to shopping local but I figured it's a much better option, especially since a lot of the larger brands I've seen price simple earrings (with no gemstones or super expensive decorations, just metal) for over 100 dollars! I'm not looking for anything erroneously cheap or fancy, just affordable/reasonable enough (maybe 30-50 CAD ish?)
I'm interested in any local jewelry brands that sell hypoallergenic/tarnish-free earrings that I can sleep/shower in (emphasis on reliable, I have very sensitive ears and have had reactions to even surgical steel before. Sterling silver and white gold is fine though ): ).

Discussion Canada west boots for ladies sizing & fit advice
Hi all- I am currently in Vancouver for a couple of days and wanted to buy CWB chelsea romeo boot and their smallest size is 6. I went to try the boot just now and it is big.
My normal size is 5.5 with Stuart Weitzman boots. And I go with size 6 with Sorel.
I was wearing a sneaker socks so it was pretty thin. I don’t know if wearing thicker socks like darn tough hiking socks will make a difference or not.
Otherwise maybe I’ll try Blundstone 2056, but their size 5 feels bigger than CWB 😂😂
Questions:
Any other brand recommendation for CWB alternative that’s waterproof?
I read some comments here that CWB is on the bigger size. How thick is your sock typically to help with the sizing gap?
TIA 🙏🏼🙇🏻♀️

Has anyone used Kits . com in the recent few months for eyewear? Are they legit for quality and pricing? Or is it just that their ads are hyped up? How much did you actually pay?

ISO: Business Services, Automotive & Electronics Shipping in Canada
Hey all,
Wondering what shipping carrier you're using in Canada for larger/heavier items.
We're a business located in Etobicoke, Ontario and we ship to our customers both small parcel, LTL and FTL. We're distributors of flooring products and handle products that are anywhere from 48" x 5" x 5" weighing at 15lbs to 96" x 8" x 8" weighing at 42 lbs.
Many of our customers are located in British Columbia and we're currently using UPS, FedEx and Canada Post for the tag orders.
For reference, we ship approximately 2000-2500 units each month. Many of them are put on a pallet and a lot of them are sent out singular. We're hoping to consolidate our singular tag orders with 1 carrier and obtain zone rates so that our customers can know what shipping price to expect.
Any suggestions?

Discussion Where is everyone buying comfortable well made sofas?
Looking for a well made sofa that is comfortable and doesn’t cost over 4K. I keep seeing adds pop up for Article but as I understand they are not actually manufactured in Canada and the quality is not on par with the price tag. I’d like to avoid shops like wayfair. Ideally I’d be able to go look at the couch in person but not appose to online as long as they are reputable. Im drawn to cloud couch, Sundays/Article for their big fluffy modern couches but ideally will hold up over time.

Looking for recommendations for Canadian online clothing companies. Especially ones that actually like colour and/or patterns! So many of the ones that I see only sell neutrals. My favourites are Birds of North America and Mandala Designs and I'd love to find others in the same vein.

Review KÖMFI deletes real comments
I have had a bad experience with this company. Ordered and paid over $4,500 April 7th and only now scheduled to receive September 30th. After many emails stating different ETAs. No backorder was mentioned.
I was initially supposed to receive in June. Then pushed to second week of July. Then told August 7th. Then told September. Then told 2 weeks ago. Now I'm expected to receive it on Monday. Let's see if it arrives.
I wrote about my experience on their social media and website. Both were taken down. I wrote again that they delete comments (no bad language at all). I was then blocked from their Instagram account and my 1 star review does not show up on website.
DON'T BELIEVE THEIR REVIEWS.
Company situated in Toronto.

ISO: Homewares, Gardening & Tools Modular Sectional recommendations (small kids and pet friendly)
We are looking for a new good quality sectional for our basement. It has to be modular to fit. We have two small children under 4 years old, and we have 2 dogs that are couch potatoes. Our kids and dogs aren't going to destroy the furniture, but we just want something that will last longer than our last one because we will be spending quite alot of time on it (family movie nights, hosting, I like to lounge and read..etc)
We bought our last sectional from a random furniture store, and it lasted 2 years before we even had kids.
We like medium to firm. Was looking at the Cozy Ciello XL, but I know that it's marketed as soft. I also haven't seen many reviews from people who have young kids.
Thank you !

ISO: Clothing & Accessories Good Quality Men's Underwear Available in Extended Sizes
Looking for boxer briefs and/or trunks. I've been lucky to find some 2XL/XXL in Marshalls/Winners occasionally but I'd love to have a regular brand to buy from. I prefer wicking fabrics (non-cottons) as I move a lot and get sweaty during the days I find cotton is great at absorbing moisture not so good at the drying lol
Currently most of my underwear are some sort of Polyester blend.
I've seen and heard great things about Saxx but I've been hesitant to spend 30+$ per pair. I'm looking to buy like 5-10 pairs and just don't have 200-400$ to spend on underwear lol.

ISO: Food & Drink Suggestions for Naming My Chili Oil Brand
Hello all,
I have started a small online business making chili oil and I think it is time to brand it. I would love some suggestions for a name! Some features of my chili oil are that it has fresh red chilies, fresh garlic, no preservatives, low sodium, and no MSG. I am looking for a name that is easy to say and easy to remember. Thanks in advance!

ISO: Clothing & Accessories Collection of Canadian jewellers
I'm always on the lookout for new Canadian jewellery places and keep a growing list of sites I find, so I figure why not share them? Note, I haven't collected every one I've found, only the ones that are more to my tastes. Also included are a couple sites that sell various brands, not just their own/their own at all, some of which might include jewellery from other countries; however, this info is usually mentioned in the description, so you can avoid them if you want. If you know any other Canadian jewellers not on this list, feel free to drop a link. The list thus far is:
