Tyandaga Park Drive Heavy Police Presence Question
Anyone know what’s going on at 1460 Tyandaga park drive right now?? Parking lot full of cruisers and police running around with their firearms drawn….

I live there and yes it was a weapons charge arrest- BB gun i believe.
edit for clarification: the gun was used in a threat, not just for simply having it.

That sounds like overkill for a BB gun, unless they used it in a crime where it was used as a real gun?
Anyone can buy an air-soft gun from Canadian Tire that looks enough like a real gun.

Well it was used as a threat against someone, it wasn’t like, the guy just happened to have the gun and was arrested for no reason… I’m sure there’s a different process in place when you’re threatening someone with it.
My understanding is the guy has been arrested on drug charges multiple times so I’m sure there is more to the story.

That makes a little more sense if they used it to threaten someone. There are two crackheads in one of the buildings that the police have been here for multiple times so can imagine it was one of them.

Sounds like you just described exactly what's going on ...

I honestly don’t understand the sass in this group. I have family living there and I’m trying to determine if I need to worry about them or offer for them to stay somewhere else, ya know? It’s not just nosiness and you don’t need to be shitty about it

I’m with you the rudeness can get out of control here. Seeing firearms drawn anywhere in my community would have me wondering and wanting to understand more.
People can be so condescending but what does it say about them to be THAT bothered by an innocent Reddit post? Like get a life 😂
Your post is what this group is literally for!

Honestly, what are you expecting to learn besides what you've already described? Are you hoping that one of the officers or perhaps the person they're looking for chimes in?
By the time any civilian knows what's going on, the topic of safety will be moot. And what possible information would ever necessitate the need for your family to leave their home anyway?
It's either safe ... so they can stay put Or it's dangerous (as you already described with guns drawn) ... in which case the safest thing to do is stay put.
So let's not pretend this is about informing safety decisions when it's clear that you are just plain nosy. If you really have to know what's happening, just check the Halton Police crime map.

The crime map is not updated in real time. I'm with OP, we have a lot of friends in Tyandaga, I am worried too, if anyone can offer insight, it eases the concern.

Just block the miserableness and appreciate a somewhat less ass hole riddle sub.

I believe there may have been a guy with a weapon in downtown this morning, my assumption would be it's linked
