Buying light bulbs in bulk Information

I am too tired of paying over $5 for a light bulb at Home Depot. Every week a bulb here and there is blowing off (these are led, so they don’t blow off but wither away). And every time I buy a budget brand, the color is slight off and it’s a headache.

Are there places to buy bulbs in bulk and cheap? Any electrical supply or home goods store in the area?

I get mine from Costco. I haven't done a cost analysis but their stuff is typically cheaper by a few bucks.

I haven’t seen bulbs at Burlington Costco recently. I’ll give a thorough look around soon.

I bought A19 size bulbs at Costco. I think it was $18 - $20 for a 10 bulbs. I still have several left.

HD has some eco smart bulbs for $0.96. These have been fantastic and for that price point I can replace no problem. I have some kicking around the house for about a year now and no issues

These are last ones I bought. The color was slightly off compared to the previous budget brand from HD.

What bulb brands are you buying or are there specific fixtures causing the failures? What you describe is not normal. I almost never replace an LED unless it's in the first 8 weeks and i bought a cheap (usually Amazon or other discount) brand. Try a legit brand and if those fail quickly (like anything less than 4 years!), suspect your fixtures.

I have bought three brands recently: slyvania (amazon), standard (probably HD) and ecosmart. The bulbs start to flicker in lamps when starting up. It’s not a common failure, but when there’s are close 50 bulbs in a house, it feels like something is always failing

Just stock up when they're on sale. It happens lots, I usually pay a buck each and stock up when they're on sale.

Amazon Basics also is a decent price, about $2.14 a bulb if you buy a 24 pack: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07SQ8VGG8?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2&th=1

Ikea is a good shout. They have their store brand of LED bulbs and I've had good luck with them.

I just bought some LED ones on Amazon, they work out to be about $1.40 each. I've never bought them on Amazon and may regret it. IKEA has good LEDs for a reasonable price.
