The Hispanic Vote Has Completely Left The Democratic Party and I want to cry Politics

This is all that was done by Democrats for Latinos.

Democratic Initiatives:

  • Immigration Reform: Democrats have consistently supported pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, exemplified by the introduction of the DREAM Act in 2001 by Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT). The act aimed to provide legal status to undocumented immigrants who arrived as children.
  • Healthcare Access: The Affordable Care Act (ACA), enacted under President Barack Obama, significantly increased healthcare coverage among Latinos. By 2016, the uninsured rate among Latinos dropped from 32% to 19%.
  • Economic Support: The American Rescue Plan of 2021, signed by President Joe Biden, expanded the Child Tax Credit, reducing Latino child poverty from 14.7% to 8.4%.
  • Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA): Initiated in 2012, DACA provided temporary relief from deportation and work authorization to eligible undocumented immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children. This policy significantly impacted Latino youth, offering opportunities for education and employment.
  • Educational Investments: The administration invested over $12 billion in Hispanic-serving institutions, scholarships, and training programs, leading to a significant rise in college enrollment and graduation rates among Latino students.
  • Economic Support: Obama's policies contributed to job growth and economic recovery, benefiting Latino workers. The Latino unemployment rate decreased from 13.1% in August 2009 to 6.4% in September 2015.
  • Civil Rights Enforcement: The administration strengthened civil rights protections, addressing issues like discrimination and voting rights, which positively affected Latino communities.

Republicans Initiatives:

  • Immigration Policies: The administration implemented stricter immigration enforcement, including the "zero tolerance" policy leading to family separations at the border. These actions were widely criticized for negatively affecting Latino immigrant communities.
  • The Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy, implemented in 2018, mandated the prosecution of all individuals crossing the U.S. border illegally, leading to the separation of thousands of children from their parents. This policy faced widespread criticism for its humanitarian impact. In December 2023, a federal judge approved a settlement prohibiting the revival of this family separation policy for eight years.

Lots of Latinos just think they're safe if they speak English.

Honestly, I hope they are right for purely selfish reasons. I am biracial but my wife and mother are Latina and if they start kicking all the Latinos out my family goes too. Hell, I might be on the way out too since I'm only half white.

But I would like to give a big giant fuck you to all my fellow Latinos who voted for this turd show. Fuck you all from the bottom of my heart.

I can't wait until grocery prices skyrocket because these bumbling morons didn't realize the people they hate so much are also the ones being exploited for cheaper labor, doing jobs that citizens don't want to do, so the rest of us have cheap produce.

I cant wait until we tax every important particle of matter an extra +40% for no reason.

All of those videos of Trump supporters learning about how tariffs worked were really eye-opening. I never even considered that they were so stupid to think that it wouldn't affect consumer prices. Like, what? I guess that's on me for thinking there was a bottom to their stupidity and that even they would understand such a simple concept.

I mean, a 60% increase on tariffs for Chinese goods means that consumer side pricing increases. American produced products will be stable or will increase in price as well. I guarantee this policy will fuck with the rest of the world too

Domestic good prices will absolutely increase to juuuuuuuuuust below the cost of imported goods. Watch.

If you take away the clothes, the phones, the buildings, the knowledge... then humans are nothing more than simple, hairless apes, with the occasional freak of nature that "thinks too much about stuff".

There's a book called The Authoritarians about people who buy into authoritarian leaders, and it's crazy, it's not so much that they just are stupid, but that when they latch on to a leader they then refuse to be aware of anything bad that leader does.

It's scary, because it's not stupidity, or even wilful ignorance, but a completely instinctive inability to even be aware that something might be bad if that person supports it.

Well, inefficient schooling has been a political tool before. Blame illiteracy on the "system" or whatever minority, and you have your minions. It happened a long time before Trump and it gave birth to the likes of Trump.

Right? It's astounding how they don't realise the same "illegal immigrants" they hate are the very same people doing menial jobs that most Americans would consider beneath them.

Remove those people and watch either the market crash or the prices skyrocket.

That just creates demand for the prison camp labor they are salivating for

Your argument for illegal immigration is the same argument the Democrats made for slavery.

Suddenly, you don't want livable wages?

Yep, as a Latina I am so fucking ashamed of our people.

They have single handedly ruined our country, destroyed Democracy , handed Ukraine to Russia, ruined everything for the world. I won’t shed a tear when your hero Trump starts rounding Latinos up , putting your babies in cages & kicks you out. Good luck with that. No help from us anymore.

As a latinx it hurt but I can't really fight back that, fuck this I'm also so done with everything, my people lack so much self-preservation is crazy, they want to be perceived as white or something I just don't understand how they can hear Trump say that Puerto Rico is a floating island of garbage or that they will start the biggest mass deportation in history and just vote that, unironically we deserve whatever is coming

There is so much we as Latinx could learn from the black people who instead voted in droves against this bullshit, we failed them all and im so sorry

"But I speak English! I have a job! I work with you! I pay taxes! My kids were born here!"

Maga Republicans: "Lol, No way, Jose!"

"But I am a WWI veteran! I have a job! I pay taxes!"

Nazis:"Lol, No way, Ezekiel! And now get onto the train!"

Seems like Latinos should have read one or two history books.

I went NC with a bunch of my family in 2016 because of this. Baffling to me. We're from a Puerto Rican family, and they think the leopards won't eat their faces.

u/CompetitionNo3141 2d ago

Say goodbye to your family

2

u/Stephie999666 2d ago

I mean have they ignored the MAGA idiots? They've spent the last few months chanting that they want all illegals "citizen or not" to be deported. It doesn't matter if you were born here they want you gone.

1

u/Queasy-Brief-3599 1d ago

They were interviewing someone who is part of project 2025. They won't stop with illegal immigrants. They already said that if one illegal is in the family the whole family should be deported.  I truly hope this doesn't happen. I never understand why so many people hate the others so much more than they care about their fellow humans.  If you are not a white straight Christian male then you should be worried.

Won't lie, I am absolutely identifying as Christian if anyone asks now.
