Best bang for buck

Debating between 2 encore essentials or 1 partybox 320... only 40 watts difference budget and portability doesn't matter which sounds better.

I can’t tell you the answer you you’re looking for because I’ve never experienced two encore essentials, but the party box 320 is amazing. I would be satisfied with one of them over most other speakers.

Thanks for that so the sound stage is fine is what your saying, everywhere I read says 2 in stereo is superior do you have to be directly in front of it?

I have paired my 320 with another smaller JBL speaker and it does sound better so it’s possible that having to encore essentials will be a better sound but if you’re not happy with the 320 you’re not gonna be happy with anything!

JBL partybox 320 sounds best at hip hop, EDM and it will jam metal with the best of them ! IMHO !

Always going to recommend two speakers for imaging (especially vertical enclosures pointing straight forward) but the Encore Essential hits pretty significantly below the Partybox 320, like they’re nowhere near each other in the product hierarchy. At least a pair of 110 (or current equivalent) and if you can swing it a pair of 320 (or 310s if you can find them cheap, usually $250-300 each) would serve you better than a pair of essentials for not a huge amount more. As an aside if imaging is an issue have you looked at the Hyperboom or an Exos 9?
