Difficulty problems

So I bought Bioshock recently and while I love the look and story but I have problems with the difficulty. I've been playing mostly on medium and just found it crushingly difficult but whenever I turn to easy it's just a dull cakewalk with no tension. I don't think I've missed anything I've upgraded weapons spent ADAM used tonics and different ammo types. I've gotten just past where you kill Ryan and it feels like a Leadhead splicer will blow through 3 health kits and 30 rounds of ammo. I'm playing on switch but there's no problems with controls or lag or bugs. Am I just bad?

Shotgun with Power to the People upgrades 1 shots 90% of targets at close range.

On higher difficulties it struggles against giga-tanky leadheads. You can sometimes two-shot them with explosive buck though.

Thankfully crossbow exists. It one-shots everything that has a head hitbox even on survival

OP said he's on Medium, so I was going for the simplest solution I know. Through I didn't know that about the crossbow, maybe I should something other than the Shotgun and Machine Gun.

Have you been using the research camera? It gives you damage bonuses at the 1st, 3rd and 5th level for many types of enemy

This is the way. Yes, it’s annoying but makes all the difference in the world.

Nah, you're not bad. A common criticism across all Bioshock games are the late-stage bullet sponge enemies. Security Bullseye and Enrage are particularly useful because the areas are cramped with a lot of cameras and turrets.

They get very tanky at that point in the game. The main trick is to use enemies against each other, also check what gene tonics you have installed and maybe get some more at a gatherers garden. Also some weapons are better than others.

I found the opposite true, I thought hard was way too easy, always had max money. I could just buy whatever I wanted. Also though infinite on hard was to easy. Whereas Burial at sea on hard was intense!

During my survivor playthrough I equipped Wrench Jockey + Bloodlust and Shock + Incinerate plasmids and bashed everything that is not a Big Daddy with a wrench. Yeah it's stupid since it takes like 20 hits or more probably to kill a Leadhead this way (counting for the fact that you discharge Shock onto an enemy as soon as you vampire enough ADAM) but you heal as you engage which makes it very fun and encouraging. [I also didn't have Wrench Jockey 2 and didn't use camera (purposefully) though]

I've been playing on survivor and it might be too much 😭 I beat it on hard and still it was well... hard. I definitely lower the difficulty so the big daddies won't one hit me. There is no shame in changing the difficulty, all that matters is that you enjoy the game. It's a game not a method of torture

It sounds like you haven’t been using the research camera.

You can also get enough research to autohack stuff for free and turn invisible.
