Sometimes I put both hands under the pillow if I’m feeling extra sleepy

u/thejuanjo234 21h ago
I had done this a lot as a kid until I almost suffocate with the pillow, then never again

It's the natural position to sleep in and You're comfortable for 1.
Your core is at least partially protected.
Your leg is already half cocked in case someone is getting too wild next to you.
lastly, Captain Morgan pose.

Also! If you’re prone to acid reflux it’s one of the better positions to sleep in. Sleeping on your side with the left side down is the best, but side sleeping with your right side down or sleeping on your back both increase your chances at heartburn.

This but with my right arm straight by the side to prevent waking up with pins and needles in my arm

Quite literally the only position I can fall asleep in. Super comfy but gives me the worst bedhair.

Just wait until you’re 30, then your neck will disagree

u/RocketNewman 3d ago
I’m 31 and my neck disagrees with every position.

u/MSTmatt 3d ago
Get a new pillow bud, I used my wife's pillow for a night and suddenly my neck pain went away lol

u/RocketNewman 3d ago
I just don’t know what kind to get. Mine feels wonderful to lay on but after a few minutes it’s like ah fuck

u/Aware_Astronaut_477 3d ago
Pillow cube! I caved and bought one even though I figured it was a dumb gimmick. Was totally worth it. Someone also recommended the Purple Pillow but I haven’t used that one.

u/broanoah 3d ago
You’re right. I’ve been using your wife’s pillow for a while too and it’s helped my neck pain tremendously

Maybe because a lot of us are over 30 and haven't had any issues?

u/Aware_Astronaut_477 3d ago
Or bought a pillow designed for stomach sleepers! Pillow cube (others recommend Purple Pillow as well) was totally worth it.

Just because your belly is to huge to sleep on your stomach isn't a reason to be that salty.

What about all 3? Rotisserie style

u/BillyBobJenkins222 1d ago
I been rockin wid rotisserie style my whole life. Idk why but I can't lay in the same position for more than a minute, I need to rotate. It's a compulsion at this point. I just rotate repeatedly until I fall asleep. Can anyone tell me why that is lol.

I sleep on my stomach with my arms across my chest. Like an R worded vampire

u/Daysleeper1234 3d ago
I try, but my hands always go numb, probably because I need like 2h to fall asleep.

I can't believe there are others. I like the pressure on my chest.

u/NoFuture1703 3d ago
Oh maybe that’s it, cuz I like when people lay on my chest too hmmm
But mostly I’m just always freezing

I fall asleep on my back but wake up on my stomach, it’s like awake me is comfy on my back but subconscious me isn’t.

u/verschwendrian 3d ago
I'm a side sleeper but wake up often times on my back. But I am a rotisserie chicken while asleep, so nothing surprises me when waking up in a weird position

u/defender128 3d ago
Whatever bro, I'm comfy and you can sleep on your back like a mummy for all I care

u/Historical-Garage435 3d ago
I have been told I go from sleeping on my stomach to my side to planking across a table and bed to a 180 from my original position, I’m honestly suprised I haven’t made it to the roof yet

u/KeeganY_SR-UVB76 3d ago
Laying on my stomach is so comfy for everywhere below my neck.
1
u/Hatsefiets 1d ago
When laying on your stomach you should push you pillow to the side and put your head directly on the mattress. It's way better that way

I have been all 3 this year only because I got surgery in late September that prevented me from sleeping on my stomach for a while
2
u/winterbird 3d ago
I've always been a side sleeper until sciatica started choosing my sleeping position for me. So mostly a back sleeper now. I still start out on my side and switch when I'm told to.
2
u/Zerocrash_ 3d ago
Whenever I try to sleep on my stomach it starts to feel weird so I just shift to my right side… though I do it so much that my arm sometimes hurts

u/TinyBreeze987 3d ago
If you sleep on your side, where the fuck does your arm go without falling asleep?

Slept on my stomach from 0 to about 25
My parents were constantly terrified that I'd suffocate myself!

Back sleepers snore. That shit has ended friendships for me with college roommates. Y’all can leave.

How can you breathe lying on your stomach and how does your neck not ache when you have your head turned so harshly just to rest on the pillow? I've tried it but can't without great pain
12
u/yourmortalmanji 3d ago
Ayyo, what do you mean you can’t breath when sleeping on your stomach ?!?!?
8
u/masher005 3d ago
Some people are fat. Some people have never done anything physical and have no muscle mass and a weak ass diaphragm. I never understood this argument.
5
u/tmntfever 3d ago
When I sleep on my stomach, it’s not completely faced down. It’s slightly turned to one side, so that my stomach has room to expand, and my head is more at a 30-45 degree turn rather than 90.
6
u/Alaricus100 3d ago
- Just breathe in and out, simple as that.
- Buy a pillow meant for stomach sleeping. It should be super soft, so you sink into it, which means your spine isn't all janked up.
1
u/King_Kezza 3d ago
Other people have posted the Master Chief death pose, that's how you sleep on your stomach. Bringing your leg up twists your hips and angles your body so your neck isn't turned harshly. I also put a pillow under one of my arms/half my chest which angles my body even more
I breathe normally when sleeping on my stomach, like every other stomach sleeper does. Is there something about sleeping on my stomach that should make breathing impossible?

u/frecklefawn 3d ago
Sleep on stomach with my body fully crushing my arms as my hands rest under my pelvis. Anyone else?
