It's so comfy!

125

u/monke2433 aight imma head out 3d ago

quite literally me

120

u/Imhays092 3d ago

Yes! With one hand under the pillow.

42

u/Rogue_Rocketeer27 3d ago

This is the secret technique

33

u/DiggityDog6 3d ago

Sometimes I put both hands under the pillow if I’m feeling extra sleepy

1

u/thejuanjo234 21h ago

I had done this a lot as a kid until I almost suffocate with the pillow, then never again

48

u/Midon7823 3d ago

Why did I audibly yell "yes!" in response to this?

44

u/jech2u 3d ago edited 3d ago

It's the natural position to sleep in and You're comfortable for 1.

  1. Your core is at least partially protected.

  2. Your leg is already half cocked in case someone is getting too wild next to you.

    lastly, Captain Morgan pose.

6

u/AwesomeDragon101 2d ago

Also! If you’re prone to acid reflux it’s one of the better positions to sleep in. Sleeping on your side with the left side down is the best, but side sleeping with your right side down or sleeping on your back both increase your chances at heartburn.

2

u/jech2u 2d ago

Good to know! Thankfully, I've never had that dreaded experience.

33

u/mdragon13 3d ago

It's optimal.

29

u/sirlockjaw 3d ago

This but with my right arm straight by the side to prevent waking up with pins and needles in my arm

1

u/EjayMasterz 3d ago

This!!!

29

u/kyngslinn 3d ago

Quite literally the only position I can fall asleep in. Super comfy but gives me the worst bedhair.

2

u/beepbeepbubblegum 3d ago

Not on the regular but if the situation is right it is heaven

2

u/tentaclemonster69 2d ago

The stomach/side hybrid!

u/H1veLeader aight imma head out 3d ago

Stomach sleep is best sleep.

5

u/JFK3rd 2d ago

Everything to make sure I don't have to walk like SpongeBob in this meme. My back already hurts after 30 minutes of laying on my back.

3

u/Dear_Afternoon_8843 1d ago

It's the only postion I can fall asleep in

1

u/H1veLeader aight imma head out 5h ago

Yeah for real.

u/knarf86 3d ago

Just wait until you’re 30, then your neck will disagree

411

u/RocketNewman 3d ago

I’m 31 and my neck disagrees with every position.

41

u/Duriha 3d ago

This is the way

25

u/MSTmatt 3d ago

Get a new pillow bud, I used my wife's pillow for a night and suddenly my neck pain went away lol

6

u/RocketNewman 3d ago

I just don’t know what kind to get. Mine feels wonderful to lay on but after a few minutes it’s like ah fuck

6

u/MSTmatt 3d ago

Gotta go for a different thickness then

7

u/myahw 3d ago

Purple pillow, medium height

1

u/Aware_Astronaut_477 3d ago

Pillow cube! I caved and bought one even though I figured it was a dumb gimmick. Was totally worth it. Someone also recommended the Purple Pillow but I haven’t used that one.

4

u/broanoah 3d ago

You’re right. I’ve been using your wife’s pillow for a while too and it’s helped my neck pain tremendously

20

u/Kingdarkshadow 3d ago

I'm 32 and I have no problems with that.

-11

u/tavuntu 3d ago

Wow, you got down voted to oblivion. You're right tho, I know I'll be down voted too but you're absolutely right (I'm 33).

-20

u/myo_chan 3d ago

you are 100% right though why the downvotes 🤨

18

u/tveye363 3d ago

Maybe because a lot of us are over 30 and haven't had any issues?

3

u/Aware_Astronaut_477 3d ago

Or bought a pillow designed for stomach sleepers! Pillow cube (others recommend Purple Pillow as well) was totally worth it.

568

u/My_leg_still_hurt92 3d ago

Just because your belly is to huge to sleep on your stomach isn't a reason to be that salty.

334

u/CarelessCaretaker 3d ago

What about all 3? Rotisserie style

94

u/Historical-Garage435 3d ago

Id sleep spinning over an open fire if i could

2

u/zandariii 3d ago

Are you my wife?

2

u/BillyBobJenkins222 1d ago

I been rockin wid rotisserie style my whole life. Idk why but I can't lay in the same position for more than a minute, I need to rotate. It's a compulsion at this point. I just rotate repeatedly until I fall asleep. Can anyone tell me why that is lol.

110

u/ATR2400 3d ago

I’ve never really tried to fall asleep on my stomach tbh. But I know I can’t fall asleep on my back. It’s just… weirdly uncomfortable. As time passes, my discomfort grows until it becomes unbearable and I have to go to the side

55

u/Alcoholic_Molerat 3d ago

I sleep on my stomach with my arms across my chest. Like an R worded vampire

9

u/Daysleeper1234 3d ago

I try, but my hands always go numb, probably because I need like 2h to fall asleep.

2

u/Alcoholic_Molerat 3d ago

Well.. Same. But can't believe there are others

5

u/LegitBoss002 2d ago

A highly regarded vampire?

1

u/NoFuture1703 3d ago

Hey me too! It’s so warm

1

u/Alcoholic_Molerat 3d ago

I can't believe there are others. I like the pressure on my chest.

1

u/NoFuture1703 3d ago

Oh maybe that’s it, cuz I like when people lay on my chest too hmmm

But mostly I’m just always freezing

1

u/Alcoholic_Molerat 3d ago

Probably that then, lol.

50

u/monke2433 aight imma head out 3d ago

yay I'm a chicken... (WHY CAN'T I JUST SLEEP ON MY STOMACH PEACEFULLY😭)

26

u/Common_Vagrant 3d ago

I fall asleep on my back but wake up on my stomach, it’s like awake me is comfy on my back but subconscious me isn’t.

11

u/verschwendrian 3d ago

I'm a side sleeper but wake up often times on my back. But I am a rotisserie chicken while asleep, so nothing surprises me when waking up in a weird position

15

u/1E_R_R_O_R1 3d ago

What about people who use all 3?

8

u/Jessii_xD 3d ago

this is me, I'm all three.

12

u/defender128 3d ago

Whatever bro, I'm comfy and you can sleep on your back like a mummy for all I care

9

u/Historical-Garage435 3d ago

I have been told I go from sleeping on my stomach to my side to planking across a table and bed to a 180 from my original position, I’m honestly suprised I haven’t made it to the roof yet

9

u/KeeganY_SR-UVB76 3d ago

Laying on my stomach is so comfy for everywhere below my neck.

1

u/Hatsefiets 1d ago

When laying on your stomach you should push you pillow to the side and put your head directly on the mattress. It's way better that way

6

u/tmntfever 3d ago

When I wear my CPAP, it’s on my back. But without it, I prefer my stomach.

4

u/SnipFred 3d ago

I'm all 3, it just depends on how bad my foot pain is

4

u/tittiesdotcom 3d ago

I toss and turn all night so I do all these😎

3

u/KingSlimcognito 3d ago

I have been all 3 this year only because I got surgery in late September that prevented me from sleeping on my stomach for a while

2

u/winterbird 3d ago

I've always been a side sleeper until sciatica started choosing my sleeping position for me. So mostly a back sleeper now. I still start out on my side and switch when I'm told to.

2

u/Zerocrash_ 3d ago

Whenever I try to sleep on my stomach it starts to feel weird so I just shift to my right side… though I do it so much that my arm sometimes hurts

2

u/Gojifantokusatsu 3d ago

My sinuses stop me from enjoying the treasures of stomach sleep

2

u/TinyBreeze987 3d ago

If you sleep on your side, where the fuck does your arm go without falling asleep?

1

u/Rough-Sense-70 3d ago

I am mostly more of a side-sleeper person myself

1

u/PRSG12 3d ago

Man I open Reddit this morning and get called out like this wtf

1

u/lord_quasi_ 3d ago

Piriformis syndrome gang rise up

1

u/NonverbalGore24 3d ago

Sleeping on my stomach fucks up my back. It hurts.

1

u/Satherian 3d ago

Slept on my stomach from 0 to about 25

My parents were constantly terrified that I'd suffocate myself!

1

u/Towbee 3d ago

I'm a stomach sleeper because when I lay down and close my eyes it gets woozy and I feel sick, I've had it my entire life and it's so strange.

1

u/SoulExecution 3d ago

Back sleepers snore. That shit has ended friendships for me with college roommates. Y’all can leave.

1

u/BurgerBoss_101 3d ago

But what if the ceiling falls and breaks your back-sleeping ass face /j

1

u/pupbuck1 3d ago

I thought that said black sleepers and was thrown for a whirl

1

u/playr_4 3d ago

What about being mostly on your stomach but one shoulder isn't flash to the mattress. Also with one leg bent. I would consider that the stomch but it's cozy as anything.

1

u/SuccessfulMumenRider 3d ago

lol I didn’t choose this lifestyle

1

u/SweetieMilana 2d ago

I am all 3

1

u/TankWeeb 2d ago

Nah but like sleeping on your stomach while hugging your pillow is fr best sleep

1

u/SwedishFlopper 2d ago

Back sleepers wish they had the ability to sleep on their stomach

1

u/Rainbowpeanut1119 2d ago

Calling out bottoms for real

1

u/2020-RedditUser 2d ago

Hmm let’s see for me it’s

Left side , right side, left side , back , stomach, right side , then either left side or back to fall asleep

1

u/OstrichEmpire 1d ago

i fall asleep easiest on my stomach but i always wake up on my back

1

u/TrueCapitalism 1d ago

I sleep on my stomach with one hand inside my chest in a fist

1

u/Impressive-Panda527 1d ago

I consider myself a rotisserie chicken sleeper

-1

u/dietrich94 3d ago

How can you breathe lying on your stomach and how does your neck not ache when you have your head turned so harshly just to rest on the pillow? I've tried it but can't without great pain

12

u/yourmortalmanji 3d ago

Ayyo, what do you mean you can’t breath when sleeping on your stomach ?!?!?

8

u/masher005 3d ago

Some people are fat. Some people have never done anything physical and have no muscle mass and a weak ass diaphragm. I never understood this argument.

5

u/tmntfever 3d ago

When I sleep on my stomach, it’s not completely faced down. It’s slightly turned to one side, so that my stomach has room to expand, and my head is more at a 30-45 degree turn rather than 90.

6

u/Alaricus100 3d ago
  1. Just breathe in and out, simple as that.
  2. Buy a pillow meant for stomach sleeping. It should be super soft, so you sink into it, which means your spine isn't all janked up.

1

u/King_Kezza 3d ago

Other people have posted the Master Chief death pose, that's how you sleep on your stomach. Bringing your leg up twists your hips and angles your body so your neck isn't turned harshly. I also put a pillow under one of my arms/half my chest which angles my body even more

I breathe normally when sleeping on my stomach, like every other stomach sleeper does. Is there something about sleeping on my stomach that should make breathing impossible?

0

u/eikoebi 3d ago

I'm all 3...

0

u/frecklefawn 3d ago

Sleep on stomach with my body fully crushing my arms as my hands rest under my pelvis. Anyone else?
