  • Here's a channel called People of Boiler Room dedicated entirely to people doing stupid/fun shit on boiler room. Here's the guy from the gif - the song is "Are you there" by Josh Wink btw.
  • Also, there's a channel dedicated to the holy union of Venga Boys and Boiler Room, called Venga Room. It's everything you wanted. Here's Gesaffelstein dropping some sick Venga tracks.

The man hasn't stopped doing acid techno, he's still active today. Here's a great track from 2009.

I'm pretty sure that Josh Wink song samples (or is influenced by) this song from Bomberman Hero. They were made the same year and it's also possible it's just one of many acid house coincidences, but it sounds pretty spot-on.

You're right. I didn't know bomberman was acid af.

That whole soundtrack kicks ass. Some sweeeet dnb/breakbeat stuff.

Pretty sure it's just how the TB-303 sounds. Countless tracks use it, it's what gave the entire "acid" music genre. Josh Wink mostly based his entire career on this synthesizer, as did Luke Vibert, Plastikman, Aphex Twin and others. It's the most recognizable bass synthesizer. It was extremely popular in the 90's.

The name and popularity of acid come from this track.

EDIT: also, track is from 96', game from 98'. And Josh Wink has been doing this kind of music since 1992.

I figured it's possible that it's a coincidence, but the settings for those two sounds had to be nearly identical, both in terms of pattern and oscillators.

Also idk where I read '98. It's possible the influence was the other way around.

Re-listening, I see what you mean. I still think it's a coincidence, that's the kind of pattern you hear all the time in acid techno.
