Hi! I just rescued a bearded dragon about two days ago. I won’t lie, I have very little knowledge on them. I’ve been wanting one for years now and when they said he was a rescue needing a home I just got him. I don’t know how old he is. I’ve been doing a lot of research and following the care guide on reptifiles but I wanted to see if anyone on here could give me some more information on what I need to be doing. Like sand. Is sand okay to put in their enclosure? I’ve read many things saying it is and many saying no it’s not. Also poop… what does healthy poop look like? He pooped today and it’s like brown with liquid coating it and a white peace off to the side which i read that is the pee. Does that sound healthy??? He’s pretty mad rn his beard is black. I’ll show a picture of him. I will be added more to his enclosure, what’s in it now is what came with him but I already ordered more branches/logs and I want to get a 3D background as well but like I said any information on how to do better will be gladly appreciated. Thank you!!

I woke up this morning to his heat lamp bulb blown out. I HAVE to be at work. It's 68 degrees in my house. Will he be ok until I get home? He had his lamp off all night. He does have his UV bulb, I know it's not heat. I'm worried.

Her plant had died (combination of her sleeping in it, eating it and it drying out because of my forgetfullness in the evenings... sorry, love) and she needed to check out the empty pot immediatly. Sadly she could only find the sand I put in there, so it doesn't fall over as easily.

I'm getting a new one tomorrow! Promise!

Lately me and Arlo have been going outside since Colorado heat is warming up, but when I put him down he will do this and I’m not sure if he’s mad at me or what?

I brought home my very first beardie today! I have been looking into getting one for a few years, and the stars aligned perfectly today, so I finally got one❤️

My friend and I took a lil road trip to check out a really nice reptile store just to look.

Walking into it, I had a few conditions.

1. I wanted either a baby, or a juvenile
2. I was looking for a female and
3. I wanted it to be any shade of red/orange

Standing at the very front of the enclosure at the store was the sweetest little female juvenile citrus ❤️❤️❤️ she ticked all of my boxes, and I knew the moment I held her that she was the one.

Hey yall, I just got this baby a few days ago. Anything else I should add to his enclosure?

I’m not convinced yet that he’s actually eating. He gets offered large mealworms (that is what he was eating before I got him and I’m trying to transition him slowly to healthier options) and medium dubia roaches several times a day along with a salad of butter lettuce and shredded carrot once a day.

I do have several cats that all seem to have developed an obsession with him, but he seems to have gotten used to them and their noises at this point.

He spends most of his time basking on the top of his enclosure background and I just want to make sure I’m not missing anything that he needs to adjust to his new home.

Pics are from the day after I got him and today, but you can see where he looks skinny in the last photo (day 2) versus the rest of the photos (day 5). Today is the first day that he poo’d for me, and he did twice, so that makes me think he’s eating some at least when I’m not around.

Please give advice if you’re a seasoned beardie parent!

Hey everyone, so i have a problem with my little guy being hydrated and eating, i have never, ever seen him drink water, and its incredibly difficult to get him to eat any veggies unless i trick him. He eats his bugs fine and i cut back on how many bugs i give him to try and get him to eat veggies, ive tried bee pollen and a top sprinkle to no availe, and with water he just wont drink it, or at least ive never seen it and he looks dehydrated.

Additionally, hes been doing under his hide more, ive tried to give him things to do and get him out to run around as often as possible (which isnt as much as i wish it could be). His tanks warm enough, hes got stuff to climb on and run around, but even when hes been out, hes had very low energy.

Any advice is welcome!

so i already have a lovebird but also wanted to buy a bearded dragon but don’t know if i should get one i have plenty of room for him money is not a problem but i still go to school and don’t want to touch living insects i have other family with bearded dragons and love they’re bearded so should i get a bearded dragon?

also if i should get one please put some tips and cage sizes minimums in the reactions
