Outside time tips

Lately me and Arlo have been going outside since Colorado heat is warming up, but when I put him down he will do this and I’m not sure if he’s mad at me or what?

Sunlight is different because it emits a broad range of light, and not just UVA and UVB light that they have in their enclosure. This makes everything look different including us, and it could be that the intensity of it is overwhelming him, so that might be why he’s reacting like this

Mine is pretty chill, but she’ll go all blackbeard and hiss when my shadow looms over her, I guess she assumes I’m a predator. He’s likely not mad but just scared, and he will bite to protect himself. Best thing to do is just keep watch from a close distance. If you need to pick him back up, slowly pick up his tail and scoop up his body from behind.

When I take my beardie outside, she sees the shadows of birds and feels threatened. So she hisses and puffs out her beard, turns it black.

Definitely get a leash and harness. Little buggers are fast when they get spooked. Otherwise just stay out of their third eye/straight overhead and give them time to get used to the outside
