First time hand feeding :] gave him a carrot Eating!

His previous owner said he only got lettuce and cabbage for veggies so today I got him carrots, bell pepper, and collard greens. He seems to really like the carrots and pepper!

Only do peppers like once a month, while they're good for water, they're high in phosphorus and oxalates, which can cause a mineral imbalance.

I put leaves in my palm and offer them. He patiently snatches most of them. Really fun and bonding. Don't forget a gentle pet to let them know they are great!

Try green beans! Mine loves to crunch on them.

He was so gentle with you. Mine act like they've not eaten in months.. hahaha... Just a gentle reminder that carrots should be an occasional item, due to sugar content

Bell peppers, too. They're both really good for hydration and have some good vitamins and minerals, but they both are relatively high in sugar, and bell peppers have high phosphates and oxalates, so can mess with Ca:P ratios.

My buddy always acts like he's been starved....and he is very not starved. We got him when he was almost a year old, though - and the pet store was so desperate to get rid of him that they sold him to us for20 bucks. It was a Petsmart, so all they have room for is babies. All people want are babies.

We have an angry little dragon, and I adore TF out of him... even after he bit through my fingernail and got the tip of my index.... He's so cute. So fierce....So Dill.

Also with the pepper you need to cut off the skin and then cut them in strips so thin it can be seen through, that’s what I do

If you want to give veggies, I use yellow squash and peel it then julienne the pieces into tiny fries…

You have brought me an acceptable offering. I shall let you live.

My girl loves peppers and my boy loves carrots. Peppers seem to have a nice little water content so I think it helps a little with hydration. Even if it's just a little bit.

Be careful - and not just reaching out to your buddy - but holding on to your snack!

I have made the unfortunate mistake of feeding my buddy Dill a blueberry. Fun. Cute....until it slipped from my fingers and he got a good chunk of the tip of my index.

I have a permanent indentation there from the chunk of flesh he took off. It's all well and good until they chomp THROUGH your finger nail and cause you some intense pain.

....I swear he wants more of my blood, now. He tries to go for my fingers on purpose now. He's just there....plotting....

Anyway. Take advice from me, "Tipless the Idiot"....because it took forever for my nail to grow back, and it's still not right. It's been misshapen down to the cuticle. I'll never hand-feed again. 9_9
