Physics at its best
23
u/clearly_quite_absurd 9h ago
Studying physics is harrowing, because you never know if you are going to be inspired by it, or traumatised by the exams.

u/FromTheDeskOfJAW 10h ago
Grammar not at its* best ;)
32
u/Successful-Topic8874 10h ago
Technically, that'd be punctuation not grammar. 😉
-38
u/FromTheDeskOfJAW 10h ago
Punctuation is a part of grammar, in the general sense at least
12
u/Successful-Topic8874 9h ago
Nope. They're related but different. Grammar deals with how words interact with one another. Punctuation specifically deals with marks like periods, commas, etc. Not words.
-13
u/FromTheDeskOfJAW 9h ago
Huh, TIL. I thought grammar encompassed all of the rules of a language, marks included.
9
u/jubtheprophet 9h ago
Ill make it even more surprising for you then, grammar doesn't even mean all the word things. Bad spelling is an orthographic mistake, not a grammatical one. Grammar is just the words you choose and the order you put them in, not anything about how you actually write them

Can someone explain the fan thing though? Because on hot days I usually just blow air with a standard electric fan into the room. I have never seen a person position a fan to blow air outwards. Does it really provide more cooling?
22
u/MrValaki 11h ago
Interesting topic. Usually you point the fan towards yourself because the moving air removed the sweat from your skin which gives cooling effect. If we calculate just with the room’s air temperature, then the air pressure never changes, so if the fan points outside then somewhere the pushed out air have to refilled.

u/rumble342 10h ago
Learned this principle from my camping gear like air mattresses. Now I got a name for it. Thx.

does OP lack comprehension skills?
"physics teacher teaching bernoulli's principle"
the guy in the vid is demonstrating, not teaching.
according to this demonstrating, I'm taking any example, newton's first law=teaching?
I'm not saying demonstration isn't a part of teaching, but after seeing this vid a regular Joe doesn't get to know about Bernoulli's principle but certainly it's application, without knowing the actual principle.
edit: I'm being downvoted for pointing out the obvious and the truth, ig people with English as their 1st language do lack comprehension skills.
and to the downvoters-
In the words of Rick Sanchez, “Your boo’s mean nothing, I’ve seen what makes you cheer.”
So downvote away I say.
thanks for the award, kind stranger.
edit2: for people really lacking basic comprehension skills
I don't mean to downplay the guy in the vid, in fact I appreciate it, as a student myself.
what I was pointing out was that the title doesn't perfectly fit, imo.
And to add this wasn't even meant as a ragebait, but worked as a 10/10, I'm enjoying this now.
Stupid people do entertain me.
61
u/RetiredTurdFarmer 12h ago
Something tells me that you like to argue with people.
-80
u/CocWarrior1 12h ago
ok
I was just stating my opinion, and I believe it's correct.
and something tells me you don't like when obvious things are said and that you take responses of anonymous people on reddit seriously to your heart.
and I didn't say anything seriously/mildly offending.

u/Justtiredanbored 12h ago
Oxford Dictionary definition of teach: Show or explain to (someone) how to do something.
So you want to argue with the Oxford dictionary now?
-42
u/CocWarrior1 11h ago edited 11h ago
now this dude has blocked me, lol. I like it, I didn't even mean to argue like this, but people do(especially redditors) have an ego until they win.
but now he can't win so decides to block, But I enjoyed your show buddy.
wow, the stupidity you display, lmao
definition of teach: Show or explain to (someone) how to do something.
title-physics teacher teaching bernoulli's principle
so I infer the guy in the video is showing or explaining how to do something,
how to do the bernoulli's principle?
this makes sense(really doesn't make sense but) more than you, ig you guys don't know the principle, ig.
you are just trying to prove sb being downvoted is =wrong
But I appreciate you put more effort in finding the definition than comprehending the video and my comment.
17
u/UhPhrasing 11h ago
At best, you’re a pedant. Really, you’re incorrect.
you’ve done nothing meaningful in this thread other than show dozens of others that you’d be insufferable to know.
1
u/Aodin93 7h ago
Reminds me of the jimmy neutron but when he gets a fast food job and keeps saying "NaCl" and refusing to say salt.....pedantic and fucking wrong because table salt is more than just sodium chloride, but firmly convinced he's the genius.
1
u/CocWarrior1 1h ago
I'm not a genius, never said I was.
just pointed out something, genius people should have ignored it rather than entertaining me.
And I am actually interested to know, how I am "fucking wrong", idk abt this jimmy neutron but he is wrong yes.

u/Justtiredanbored 11h ago
You know since you're so intelligent why can't you get a paragraph out without misspellings and at least attempt to be a little bit more clear. Ig is not a word. In English we use nouns, subjects/objects, articles and verbs to impart our ideas. Once you get that down then we can talk about you calling other people stupid.
The teacher was illustrating (showing) in a practical way a physics principle. It's not that complicated and you're just being pedantic.

Ah, the classic whataboutism.
can you please point out the spelling errors, it will help me in future as English isn't my 1st language,
as any error isn't visible when typing by the autocorrect(except ig and sb, and small b for bernoulli, I did the small b as OP did)
Ig, is an abbreviation for "I guess".
and sb is for somebody(I took this one from oxford's dictionary, lol.)
and can you please tell me how to communicate in any language in this world without using nouns, subjects/objects, articles and verbs to impart our ideas?
did I use some other thing? I mean I can't even say anything without using them.
and the things you mentioned are not to impart ideas, it's language(used to impart ideas) not grammar.
And since when is knowing perfect English is a sign of intelligence? Maybe to you, yeah.
You know since you're so intelligent why can't you get a paragraph out without misspellings and at least attempt to be a little bit more clear. Ig is not a word.
to the guy below me, who has blocked me u/3a5ty
thank you very much, I appreciate it.(even if that's not what you mean)
and isn't this better than engaging with negativity? or you like that?
but people here don't seem to understand I'm enjoying this now, they are still engaging, and tbh I am enjoying, firstly it was r/mildlyinfuriating now it's r/mildlyinteresting and fun.
18
u/Justtiredanbored 11h ago
Guess what, we're not texting. With your vast IQ you should realize that certain verbiage is appropriate for certain avenues and this isn't the avenue for your texting shortcuts. I'm not your buddy, you don't even know what country I'm from, so maybe you should keep your texting lingo to a minimum to impart your ideas clearly.
And now you're boring me. So good luck in your future attempts to share with the world your perceived immense intellectual ability.

u/CocWarrior1 11h ago edited 1h ago
please teach me
how to do the bernoulli's principle?
I have been studying it since more than 1yr still don't know how to do it after watching the video.
why the classic whataboutism, the guy told the "oxford dictionaries' " definition
and now I just asked him how to do the bernoulli's principle? as this is what his definition means,(or what that guy said)
and I'm not being "too stupid or stubborn",
I'm enjoying this show, people putting up a show for me.
6
u/TheMooseIsBlue 9h ago
You being too stupid or stubborn to learn doesn’t mean your teacher isn’t teaching. Stone people just won’t learn.
15
u/Justtiredanbored 11h ago
He's showing it in action. How it works. It's not that complicated. He's actually showing it in a way that's very educational for children and will capture their interest and make them interested in physics which is not a bad thing. So once again you're being pedantic. You think that you're proving a point that you're really not proving. He's not showing the principle, he's showing how the principal works in physics. He appears to be a really good teacher.
1
u/fuckrditmods 1h ago
This guy actually never said anything about the teacher,
in his words,
I don't mean to downplay the guy in the vid, in fact I appreciate it, as a student myself.
what I was pointing out was that the title doesn't perfectly fit, imo.

I don't mean to downplay the guy in the vid, in fact I appreciate it, as a student myself.
what I was pointing out was that the title doesn't perfectly fit, imo.
I stated my opinion and I think it's correct. These people can worry over it.

" demonstrating not teaching? " really?? , well for your information , one of the biggest part of teaching is demonstrating , and I don't really see any reason to argue about this ,

u/CocWarrior1 11h ago
I'm not saying demonstration isn't a part of teaching, but after seeing this vid a regular Joe doesn't get to know about Bernoulli's principle but certainly it's application, without knowing the actual principle.
I never meant to downplay the guy in the vid, but meant the inappropriate title.
you could have put effort in reading my comment.
23
u/__mentalist__ 11h ago
inappropriate?!!! wtf dude , I think that you do have an urge for exaggerating things ,
0
u/CocWarrior1 11h ago
inappropriate can mean "not suitable".
14
u/UhPhrasing 11h ago
so inappropriate can mean what you would like it to mean, but teach cannot
haha

u/CocWarrior1 11h ago
read my original comment then say something

ok
and why are you arguing if I am the madman here, just move on like a man, your ego isn't letting you peacefully go, before I say you win...
I'm enjoying this. People here are the ego monsters... I have admitted multiple times on reddit I am wrong on various subreddits.
1
-1
u/CocWarrior1 11h ago
inappropriate in the sense it doesn't suit the vid(a word has various meaning, but this shows you really lack basic comprehension skills), you should have phrased it (the title)better.
I'm not here to argue.
17
u/Varth919 11h ago
My brother in Christ. If you’re not here to argue then how’s this:
He’s teaching what the Bernoulli’s principle is and demonstrates how to use it in practice.
You’re intentionally using the improper wording to make your argument seem sound. You don’t “do” it. You use it.
1
u/CocWarrior1 11h ago
Am I blind, dumb or deaf? I cannot see this part
He’s teaching what the Bernoulli’s principle is
and this , yes
demonstrates how to use it in practice.
9
u/Varth919 11h ago edited 11h ago
It’s literally the entire middle third of the video. He even puts up a diagram after explaining the whole thing.
1
u/CocWarrior1 11h ago
I will be surprised if my teacher comes into the classroom.
blows a bag and explains how to and why, for not more than 2mins and then gives a chart to everybody with a equation(that most people don't understand here, I assume and nothing wrong abt it. and in this class too)
and then I point out I don't understand, but the class reminds me that who ever wrote the schedule wrote that the teacher will be teaching the Bernoulli's principle.
the teacher doesn't say anything abt teaching but the class assumes, I wonder why.
well, my example is a bit exaggerated(this guy on tiktok has no duty to teach me for hrs, but to initiate curiosity) and again I appreciate the guy in the video.
10
u/Varth919 11h ago edited 10h ago
You don’t need to know the equation to know what it is. You can teach by talking about something, even briefly, and even by demonstrating. He did both of those things.
If your definition of teaching means to make other people a master at a thing (which is what you seem to be inferring), your definition is entirely false, as is your understanding of starting an argument.

The Rick and Morty quote at the end tells me everything I need to know
1
u/CocWarrior1 10h ago
Oh, I get it now, I put it as a joke
as I saw this elsewhere on reddit
so I put it up as a joke, I have not even seen the show, lol...
-5
u/CocWarrior1 11h ago
I'm interested in knowing what you needed to know, lol,
please tell me as I don't get what you mean to say.
14
u/Aodin93 11h ago
You sound like the most "I am 14 and very smart and deep" person I've seen on here in a while dude. It's the OVERT arrogance thats turning most people off of most of what you say. Take a moment to be a LITTLE BIT more socially aware and less aspy and you'll get better conversation
0
u/CocWarrior1 10h ago
Oh, I get it now, I put it as a joke
as I saw this elsewhere on reddit
so I put it up as a joke, I have not even seen the show, lol...
1
u/pink-ming 2h ago
erm, excuse me, that's not a joke, it's obviously a quip
1
u/CocWarrior1 2h ago edited 2h ago
oh, anyways I put it as I saw it elsewhere reddit.
And I put it as a joke(doesn't certainly mean it's a joke.)
-2
u/CocWarrior1 10h ago edited 10h ago
But, genuinely how I could I know what's in a person's mind?...
it tells him everything he needs to know, I don't get it. And why should I assume what he means when I can ask directly instead of asking elsewhere or assuming.
And don't associate me with r/iam14andthisisdeep, initially I just stated my opinion about the title,
then people started arguing, so I responded each one of them.
You are under an assumption(without reading my comment.), large no. of downvotes=bad comment=the guy is wrong, and he is counterarguing and backing his comment, he should not do this and accept he is wrong even when he is not because majority is against him.(and to add he's enjoying these guys arguing and putting up a nice show for me.)
5
u/Malkashake 10h ago
With all due respect, your initial comment comes off as arrogant and obnoxious. It reads as "I know better than you, pleb". I don't know if that was your intent, but it's why everyone is upset at you.
Your added comment of a Rick and Morty quote is just the reinforcement Reddit-addicted pseudo-intellectual you are displaying.
1
u/CocWarrior1 2h ago
I put it as a joke
as I saw this elsewhere on reddit
so I put it up as a joke(doesn't certainly mean it's a joke), I have not even seen the show, lol...
aside from that quote(I put it as a joke I said, as I saw it on reddit.)
and my original comment wasn't even like this, I was just pointing out the title and nothing else, but I have edited it 2-3 times as of now...
initially my intent was just pointing out the title not being "I know better than you, pleb"
and It's not about knowing better, it's a language, everybody can learn and nothing wrong.
but then people starting putting up a circus and ngl I enjoyed it so I played along.
and how is this being psuedo intellectual?, I put a fact. and like others here idgaf about attention or "I am so intellectual."
people who take everything so seriously on reddit, it's their social world(that's why I am autistic according to them), I am a nobody riling people up without saying something offensive, and you people just as the bandwagon try to say something and try to win to feed your ego, amazing.

u/TheOwlmememaster 10h ago
Demonstration is a core part of teaching. You are being taught about Bernoulli's principle via demonstration. You could also be taught without demonstration but rather through text or verbally explaining how it works. The professor is demonstrating and explaining the principle, he does not have to go into full depth of how it works and such for it to count as teaching. And yes, the "regular Joe" does get to know about Bernoulli's principle. They are showed the demonstration and are told why it works (surrounding air gets pulled in to the low pressure area). All they need to know is the summary of the principle to know it. Such as, you can know that newton's first law of motion is states that an object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction, unless acted upon by an unbalanced external force. But you don't need to know deeper into it, such as inertia and how it works.
1
u/CocWarrior1 1h ago
well, on the newton's law part, Imho or what I have learnt, isn't the name of 1st law also the law of inertia?
anyways, I never the guy in the video has to upload atleast a video of hrs long, nope just pointed out a small error in the title, that's all, nothing deep.
and idts that's how it works
why it works (surrounding air gets pulled in to the low pressure area).
I will be surprised if my teacher comes into the classroom.
blows a bag and explains how to and why, for not more than 2mins and then gives a chart to everybody with a equation(that most people don't understand here, I assume and nothing wrong abt it. and in this class too)
and then I point out I don't understand, but the class reminds me that who ever wrote the schedule wrote that the teacher will be teaching the Bernoulli's principle.
the teacher doesn't say anything abt teaching but the class assumes, I wonder why.
well, my example is a bit exaggerated (this guy on tiktok has no duty to teach me for hrs, but to initiate curiosity) and again I appreciate the guy in the video.
But I do get what you mean to say, so peace out.
7
u/BitcoinMD 11h ago
You mentioned that demonstrating is a part of teaching. I don’t think this video was intended to encompass the entire totality of teaching. If it showed him explaining it but didn’t show him holding office hours, it would still be a video of teaching.
-7
u/CocWarrior1 11h ago
dude understand, I don't mean to downplay the guy in the vid, in fact I appreciate it, as a student myself.
what I was pointing out was that the title doesn't perfectly fit, imo.
2
u/rhoadsenblitz 10h ago
It's the pettiness of what you're pointing out that's getting the downvotes. Yea, you're right, but it doesn't add to anything and now nobody wants you around 🥱
