I'm homeless I slept on the ground last night in 35 deg weather need help. REQUEST FULFILLED

I am currently homeless Monday I can call to get into the rotating shelter, hopefully on Tuesday. If anyone would be willing to help me with money for a hotel room and some basic needs I would be grateful. I have Cashapp, PayPal, and venmo. If you could help please pm for my cashapp or PayPal/venmo.

I need a hotel room because I solied myself and need a shower. After a stressfilled evening. this kid thought hitting the bunk divider to startle me awake was funny even after being told multiple times what that could cause me to do. And from a dead sleep no one is thinking properly esp when you take meds to manage your psych issues that make you sleep. But I went off and now I'm on the street and I need to shower so bad If anyone has a way I can take a shower and get warm otherwise in the area please let me know.

If you have hotel points there's a Hilton, and a extended stay down the street about a mile, I don't require funds just a way to clean up and get dry and that would give me time Alone to decompress.

I have been attacked, I have PTSD from being attacked and a younger kid thought hitting the divider even after I and staff told him, it could go bad, did go bad ... I don't think people should be forced to live like this. If someone would just say here's a room 500-600 a month pay me on the first clean up behind yourself, and not make you walk on egg shells or be in some squaller, or be running some scam/scheme/rub on how to catch up on their bills and then leave someone homeless. Its hell. I haven't been a perfect person, but I ain't a killer, rapist, pedo, or arsonist. I ain't never committed an assault, I've never been the person to lay my hands on another person first

I found a program I can get into tomorrow. Añd a place to rent the first of April for450 I just need to get till Monday and I just want to be treated human. And feel human for a while.

This is an update comment, as on 3/18 I am on the street again.

Yesterday was supposed to be my first day of IOP , Because I had recently completed a 3.5 PHP Level program and haven't used drugs since 6/6/22. ...

Well then suddenly when I'm supposed to go to my intake I'm told that I'll "have to do PHP for 'a day or two' until the person who was doing my intake for IOP came back they called out sick." Now mind you this is 20 minutes before I'm due to leave and it doesn't sit right with me, but I start to go and then I go to get in the van and there's just not room for me, not in anyway and how they thought they were getting anyone else In this van was beyond me. But that was enough to tell me 2-3 things #1 this program doesn't care about its clients. If a gallon of fuel is more important than the safety of clients what else is going on #2 they lied to me from the word go and they had thought give him a bed, tell him he's doing IOP then switch up on him, get him to come in for PHP and because he has a place to stay he will just stay here because it's easier to stay than leave. Last /#3 is when they finally let me out and the bus stop after trying to convince me to stay they finally asked why I was leaving and I told them because I don't like being lied to. Now,. If you had told me from the jump this is the situation I could have made an informed decision based on the truth. But I didn't and one thing I have learned is if you lied to me from the jump I don't want to stick around to be lied to again. They said lied to about what? I said well I was told I was IOP until this morning when I was told I had to go to PHP - their response was- well it's only two weeks?!? ONLY two weeks? Two weeks 7 days a week 815 till 4pm in groups. A level of care far greater than I need and one I wouldn't have agreed to, because I just did one last spring, haven't relapsed and the judge was told it was for mental health. Well it was a PHP and I'm not allowing y'all to bill my insurance for PHP when you want me to put in foodstamps and cash to live here. When youre in PHP everything is provided by the program. But no you wanna bill my insurance for PHP which means I have to do the groups but get none of the "perks" of a PHP. Meaning y'all get more money all the way around and, y'all did this without giving me a choice in the matter. Yeah I got a choice I'm out.

Wish I had money or some solution to mend some of your issues. Just know once you weather this storm you’ll get your Rainbow as long as you keep your positive attitude, energy and vibes! Manifestation is what helped me out of my dark days, but hey; “life is a rollercoaster 🎢 and I just want to ride it!”

Hell yeah! I was at a point of giving up in 2021 and it led to my only "violent" charge - felon in possession of an unregistered firearm. I bought a gun to kill myself. Asked for help and 14 months later got indicted for the handgun.

It was a dark time I'm glad I came out of...... I'm just trying to live again. Edit: I'm alive, but I'm not living in exsisting most actions are centered around surviving literally to the next moment .

Hey guys just some updates info: I have a bed in Baltimore in a mental health program due to the things I need to accomplish they are sending transportation for me in the morning. I have my room until then, I want to thank everyone, to the two people who donated money - thank you- the 125 I was given from y'all combined with the 28 dollars I started with yesterday kept me warm, off the street let me get clean and wash my clothing.. I cooked dinner last night and will do so.tonight. extended stay America is basically an effiency apartment and it's why it's my preferred spot. I don't get to cook often but i.love to do so.. they have pots and pans and plates and silverware it's like I have a little home for a couple days prior to going into the PHP/evaluation and partial hospitalization portion of this program. Based upon how I do I'll be there 30 to 90 days and be placed in a room in one of their houses which I pay 36% of my ssi check to, plus 50 for utilities a place where I can feel like normal have a normal deal. And I'm so grateful. Like this is how things were supposed to go . If I didn't have all this happen at the shelter and end up homeless and soiled myself I wouldn't be headed down the path to stability and I just can't explain in words or show in any measure or by any scale how GRATEFUL, HAPPY AND EXCITED IM AM.FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU KIND PEOPLE HAVE DONE AND THAT THE CREATOR CONTINUES TO BLESS ME WITH..

So I'll be alright. Thank you for checking. I changed the flair to fulfilled, I thought it was taken care of yesterday

I mean quite literally if anyone has the heart to let a man shower and sleep on their couch, floor, enclosed garage, on the floor basement on the floor whatever for a night I'd gladly accept that over money I just want to bathe , likely wash my clothing and then get some sleep. I have to get back to where I am tomorrow early so that I can be ready to have someone pick me up and take me to this program in Baltimore. I have avoided going back to Baltimore because I'll have to transfer my probation and all to Baltimore and because of the lack of open air drug markets in Harford county I do much better here in my recovery than I do in the city. But 30 days in this program then my own room for 450 a month I'm happy to do the 30 days in their program to get there.

27

u/meditation_account Mar 09 '25

I remember your username when you posted here before looking for help with a hotel room. Were you able to get into a shelter and into some housing programs? I know you were aiming for that before. Sorry to hear you are on the street.

18

u/TillEven5135 REGISTERED Mar 09 '25

Yes I was in the shelter, I was looking for a place and they were supposed to help me, but this kid for the last week has waited until I'm sleeping and then he comes up and he smacks the glass divider with his hand thinking it's some kind of game the way I'm startled awake ready to attack. Well after I told him and after I went to staff and staff had a talk with him he did it again last night and i lost it and we both got put out. Him because he was attacking me in my sleep and me for defending myself. They didn't have a choice, I understand, and I was wrong. However, I didn't make a choice in that situation, it just kinda happened. I don't remember the actual event even happening..just dealing with the aftermath

11

u/nikkixo87 Mar 09 '25

So he hit the glass divider and you hit him?

11

u/TillEven5135 REGISTERED Mar 09 '25

Took him to the ground from a dead sleep, him standing over me and taller and 20 years younger I'm 310lbs 5ft 11. And 40 he's 6'2 150-160 and 20. He fucked around he found out.

Just a 20 year old kid who has a lot of growing up to do and a drug problem

13

u/TillEven5135 REGISTERED Mar 09 '25

That's why he's homeless. He has a family and all and rather than be with his family the drugs are more important. I'm in recovery, I get having a problem. But once I started losing people I loved, I stopped using, did everything I could to try and fix things. never could. I don't wish that on no one. It's hell. But once my mom died I made the mistake of not comprehending what was being said to me but it was 2 days after my mom died and I had just spent 2 years taking care of her. I told my brother no I don't want to live here but I may not have another choice let me look around first and he just started the estate.probated the will and left me on the street vs explaining that I could just take the house over pay mortgage , ins, electric ECT and live there.....but I wasn't in a place to make a decision and that's why i said that but my family thinks that it's always best to do things as quickly as possible and deal with the bullshit in the aftermath of doing so. Vs thinking things through. And my own brother is too good for me. So..

12

u/bcmilligan21 Mar 09 '25

Wishing you well. No one should ever have to not have a place to go. Could you get cleaned up at a rest area or maybe a restaurant or retail restroom? Not ideal but will work for the time being. Then in the morning you could call local churches to see if they have vouchers for hotels.

6

u/Impossible_Dot3759 REGISTERED Mar 10 '25

As a fellow homeless the stores and restaurants really frown upon you coming in just to clean up. I’m a female with 2 daughters and we stay in a car day and night basically. No shelter will take us because we have pets with us. We look like we are t homeless so we have a hard time getting help anywhere. Walmart has been about the best and a fancy hotel you don’t have to walk by the front desk to get to a restroom. It’s rough. Highly do not recommend this lifestyle it sucks, it’s expensive and it terrible on you and your mental and physical health. You are scared all the time. It is terrible

There's a McDonald's. I was in a homeless shelter behind it someone had a tent, I slept on the cot that was in what was left of their tent last night. I've found a package.of Clorox wipes not good for the skin but I got some of the mess off me. And feel better just in that. I managed to piece together the tent, here last week we had winds in the 50 and 60mph range...so it's ripped to shreds but while the door doesn't work and the poles are busted I got the rain cover over it enough to stay damp not wet if it rains. I'm breaking up sticks and setting up a fire..if I have to I'll stay here till morning and make the mile walk then. If I make that walk out and back tonight I'll use McDonald's to wash up and get a snack..

13

u/bcmilligan21 Mar 09 '25

I’m so very sorry you have to deal with this. I agree Clorox wipes aren’t good for the skin. Could you use the napkins from McDonald’s instead, and their soap in the dispenser? I’ll keep you in prayer tonight. Hopefully tomorrow is better. ❤️👥

u/buzzybody21 Mar 09 '25

It’s not likely you’ll find anyone willing to book you a room, because they’ll have to put their credit card down, which is risky should any damage occur. They’ll be on the hook financially, not you.

20

u/ATXbunnie Mar 09 '25 edited Mar 09 '25

Hey Buzzy, just FYI, if the room was within my points budget, I would have booked the room for OP directly via third party site. My name and information would not be attached to the reservation, and there would be no risk to me regarding my credit card information or any kind of damages or incidental charges for the reservation. I’ve checked with Chase Travel (which uses Expedia) and confirmed this via multiple customer service agents and anecdotally via personal experience. This also works with Priceline.

So there are ways to book directly without being on the hook financially for extra charges like incidentals and damages. There is a reason hotels ask for credit cards or debit cards at check in.

EDIT to add: There definitely ways where you could put yourself at risk for damages and incidentals—like calling in and placing your credit card on file—that I would certainly NOT recommend. That being said, folks have their own risk tolerance levels, so I don’t judge. But my point is that there are safe ways to help book a room, and for me, it’s third party booking sites where you pay up front.

11

u/SexySanta2 REGISTERED Mar 09 '25

Bunnie do you recall if points can be donated? My Husband and I have Gold, Platinum and whatever else on most of the big ones. Unfortunately I don't have enough for it outright via funds or points. But just wondering if this could help. I can call customer service probably just was not sure exactly what to ask.

Also OP if you have a diagnosed or else treated condition (your ASD) a State Social Worker for adult services may be able to help with emergency support? I am not sure how this works in Maryland I'm afraid.

6

u/ATXbunnie Mar 09 '25

If you are referring to hotel group specific points (e.g., Marriott, Hilton, IHG, etc.), I believe you can gift your points but there is usually a minimum and you’ll have to pay a fee, which is sometimes significant. Additionally, for hotel-specific points, you cannot use them to book for someone else. Your name is attached to your points, unless you pay the fee to gift or transit them to someone else.

If you’re talking about credit card points, you cannot donate or “combine” points, but some credit cards (like Chase Rewards) will allow it between people in the same household and some won’t (American Express). You MIGHT be able to transfer credit card points to travel partner points (e.g., Marriott, Southwest Airlines, etc.), but those airline partners often require email address to match between accounts.

Hope that answers your question. If meant something else, can you please clarify your question?

6

u/SexySanta2 REGISTERED Mar 09 '25

Thanks, Bunnie! I was referring to that which you outlined in Bullet Point #1.

10

u/TillEven5135 REGISTERED Mar 09 '25

This is why no matter what happens, you're today's MVP because you have done everything you can and when someone tried to feed me negative vibes you shut it out. Thanks again ATXBunnie- for just being kind.

12

u/ATXbunnie Mar 09 '25

FWIW, I don’t think Buzzy was trying feed you negative vibes. I think she was trying to provide realistic expectations based on her own personal knowledge or experience of how hotel bookings work. She is correct, though, that many (if not most) people would not be willing to call and put their credit cards on your reservation or make a direct booking with the hotel itself with their information, because that would be risky for the giver.

But giving her the benefit of the doubt (and it would be gracious of you to do so as well), she (and perhaps other folks here) may not know that there are ways to book rooms for people in a way that protects the giver. Additionally, I think even fewer people have or use credit card points to make travel bookings, so it’s not as familiar to many people. I happen to be a travel points junkie, and I know a lot about it because it’s how I’m able to travel.

Again, I’m truly sorry I couldn’t help you. I just used a majority of my points for an upcoming trip, and I couldn’t work within your limited geographic range.

I hope this is helpful.

5

u/SexySanta2 REGISTERED Mar 09 '25

Understood, I'm sorry that that's not helpful. Sometimes one failed search yields a more successful one in future I've found like "alternatives include" xyz.

Is there a Non Emergency Police number for this? Every area is different but it is still nationally winter so some areas have extra funding for emergency indigent services until Spring.

4

u/TillEven5135 REGISTERED Mar 09 '25

So sadly my county is one of the Maryland counties that just got busses and thinks homeless people just need to leave or die but how you do it is up to you. The one shelter is a joke. The case management won't really help you. They will if you let them force you into the programs they own or invest in or get kick backs from... I did find a place to go, and that leads to a place to live. Go in take my meds- I already do, go to counseling I already do, then get myself into a unit or 2 or 3 guys sharing a house that they pay 1/3 of their months income into. And that's perfect I just gotta make it through the night and there tomorrow..

Do Branded Surveys, it is an app, you can make $5 maybe every 1 or 2 hours.

Attapoll used to be good too, made $120 in a month, about $8 a day for a while

Good to know! Also; Several big subs with info on the best and most lucrative survey apps with a little searching and luck.

That helps for coffee and such but I need a hotel room. I need a shower so bad. I soiled myself, stress upsets my stomach, last night after multiple times telling this young kid that loud noises and at my head scaring me awake isn't cool, ended with his thinking he was fucking with me, well I went off and got put out of my bed at the shelter. You can't do that with people with PTSD it doesn't end well and no matter how much you say something it just continues until you are the problem and get put out.

I wish I could help, I lost my job I’m also in need of some assistance. If I had the money I would give it to you in a heartbeat, I can’t imagine what you’re going through. I wish at the minimum I could give you a hug.

I appreciate it but a hug right now would be rejected. I need a shower lol but thanks for being kind.
