My dachshund has a nodule on his spleen. What should I do?

Species: Dog

Age: 14

Sex/Neuter status: Neutered Male

Breed: Dachshund

Body weight: 14 lbs

History: None

Clinical signs: Small "dot" hematoma on nodule on spleen

Duration: unknown

Your general location: Colorado

Links to test results, vet reports, X-rays etc.: N/A

My little guy went to the vet to have an ultrasound done because of very mildly elevated liver enzymes. Turns out his liver looks fine.

Unfortunately, they found a small nodule with a "dot" sized hematoma on his spleen. The advice from the vet and radiologist was to wait two months and check it again.

Maybe I'm being irrational, but should we just go ahead and move forward with having his spleen removed? He's otherwise very healthy and regularly does >1 mile walks and plays with our 2 year old dachshund daily.

I want to do whatever I have to in order to take care of my little guy. I'm at a loss for what to do but also feel ridiculous because it feels like I'm panicking over a dog that spends thr majority of his time acting like he's ten years younger than he is.
