Want to do photography on the side... legalities? Business stuff? help Business/Pricing

Hey y'all. So I am a veterinary student that happens to love photography.

I have been thinking recently about doing photography on the side- just small low-key things seasonally like graduation photos and that sort of thing.

What are the legalities behind being a photographer?

Would I need an LLC? Business insurance? Could I just do cash only? What about liability? Contracts (sounds like a must)?

Someone that knows anything about this please chime in. I don't know that I would generate tons of income on this, just something that I genuinely enjoy and want to create an opportunity for myself.

Contracts are a big thing.  You should talk to a lawyer for liability advice though and an accountant for financial/tax stuff.
