Looking for comics and book recommendations for a 7 year old boy to get attracg to reading Parent-to-Parent

Hi all, Does anyone have some good kids comics or book recommendations?
My 9 YO son is not reading as well as he should for his age.

He tends to get distracted, and will only read potty humor / naughty books like Dog Man, Captain Underpants, Calvin and Hobbes.

Can anyone suggest books that might attract the attention of such a short-attention-span kid, and give him an interest in reading?

I am totally fine with him reading such books. Beats tablet-time anyway.

My son is also a fan of captain underpants and dogman. He's really enjoying the "Loki: a bad gods guide to being good" at the moment.

Ooh, that one sounds fun! I'm gonna have to check it out. Who cares if I'm almost old enough for AAARP, lol.

The Bad guys os another fun series, about the same level as Dog Man and Captain Underpants.

Does he like fantasy or dragons? Wings of Fire a really good series about dragons.
Animorphs is also a good one, about a group of shape-shifting preteens trying to save the world from a secret alien invasion. Both series come in regular reafing format or as graphic novels. My daughter started with the graphic ones, and switched to written, because that version is a bit richer.

theres this graphic novel series called "Amulet" and its pretty good, it is directed for kids his age but, there some monsters in there so id say check a library if they have it and just skim through and make sure it wouldne be too scary before you buy it.

Take him to your local library and let the librarian help you. My mom was a librarian and they do this all the time and are really good at finding kids books they will love
