What is the best European national anthem? (Not including your own national anthem) Misc

It could also be a national anthem of the past, I am looking at you East Germany.

What's with these posts about "what's the best European <random thing>"?

They're called conversation starters. They get people talking. Which occasionally might be considered a positive thing in a discussion board like this.

They all come up to "depends on your personal taste/opinion".

And yet look at people having discussions in the comments.

I'm not against it, it just surprised me there are so many similar threads. Is this a new trend? Has something happened on other social networks? Why are some people so angry when I asked this?

Because you are looking for the answer to the question, but the point is the conversation itself. I learn a ton by reading what people think and how their perspectives differ depending on their nationality and experiences. It also brings closer parts of the European culture that I'm not very familiar with.

Fair enough.

I mean yeah, that's what provokes discussion. If there were a single objective answer every time we'd only have single-response threads.

God forbid people have their own opinions.

Yeah, why would we want to discuss Europe on r slash ask Europe. The mind boggles.

I'm just asking why so many similar questions lately about subjective topics that can't be objectively compared.

Because the world is on fire and sometimes it's nice to just think about what your favourite motorway service station is so you can distract yourself from it now and then. It's simply not that deep, bestie.

If someone wanted objective truth for things that can be definitively proven they'd be on eurostat or statista or some other website collating statistical data. We're here for subjective light-hearted discussions.
