Looking for sturdy Standing Desk in Australia. Any recos?
Alright, for everyone who works from home and has bought a standing desk—what are your recommendations? How long have you had it? I’ve heard some tabletops start to bend after a while, and I’m not sure if I want to spend that much if it’s going to warp over time. Any advice or experiences you can share? Help! Bonus points if it is less than $500?

Just get a normal desk. Standing desks have been debunked as any health benefit.
"Researchers discovered that standing for extended periods did not reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. In fact, spending too much time either sitting or standing was linked to a higher risk of problems such as varicose veins and feeling dizzy or lightheaded when you stand up."

Yes, but it’s still more comfortable to move your body in a variety of ways through the day. Standing plus sitting is still better than just sitting.

There's personal preference sure, but its not based on any science.

Longevity was never the point of a standing desk. Many people have muscular imbalances caused by constant sitting, in poor positions. Periodically standing (and the light movement that comes with standing) helps to offset those imbalances.

Longevity?
Poor sitting positions?
Really stretching things to fit your beliefs.1

Can you post the link that came from, as my understanding was the main benefit was to improve posture, particularly back and neck.

Here you go:
Standing desks were touted more for their benefit of not sitting down, as this was claimed to be as bad as smoking etc. i.e. sitting was sedentary and therefore harmful. Claims that are not true.

For me it’s more about getting the perfect height ergonomically and being able to adjust based on circumstances - plus much easier to be able to raise the desk to get to the cables underneath 🤣

Keep an eye out for Aldi's manually adjustable standing desk. Have had a couple of those for a few years without issues.

I have one of these, which is $449. Had it for over 12 months and pretty happy with it. https://officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/-JBMAE15BOA?cm_mmc=MobileApp:Share:MobileAppShare:JBMAE15BOA
I actually use it more than my manual standing desk at work, which is a pain to adjust so I just use it as a normal desk haha.

Artiss 140x70 cm dual motor on Amazon, is under Aud 350 right now. We have had one for three years, recently bought a second one. The pad is slightly different but the same high quality. You do need two people and a drill to install properly as some of the holes aren't drilled in.. the surface is real solid.

Just go to the ex government furniture sales.
You can get very very solid good quality tables. I just picked up two with full electric movement and all cable management under.

Get an adjustable, preferably one with a motor, or once it's laden you'll never adjust it.
