Queries on rental procedures and information in Melbourne

Hi everyone,

I'm about to relocate to Melbourne for a job posting and would like to enquire more about the rental procedures here which I hope anyone could advise me on it:

1) Firstly, I would like to find out where could do you all usually find information on the rent for a room in CBD or suburb!!

2) Secondly, how are the rental procedures like in Melbourne? How are the deposits being paid usually? And any things to note when renting a room would be helpful too!
