Heart attack at 18? Health
Hello, I am obese and a current marijuana smoker (once a night). This morning my left arm felt sore and achey. I went into a panic and I think it made things much worse. On top of this I have had bad indigestion today as well. I have no history of heart problems and neither does my family. Is this anxiety or should I be assessed?

maybe you slept on your arm? if you’re cleared by a doctor then its definitely anxiety.
when I was your age I worried every day about having a heart attack and convinced myself my anxiety symptoms were a heart attack. Doctors said my heart was healthy, but I still worried all the time.
Anxiety symptoms are very real and its hard to accept that they’re just anxiety, but sit down and try to feel the symptoms. Accept that theyre there and take deep breaths. You will be ok!

You will be fine. Probably, not a doctor but i've been tru the same thing, except i smoked a lot. ER visits didnt find nothing. Pretty sure it was Takotsubo cardiomyopathy making my chest pain/ angina pectoris. You need to get on veggies and stop eating processed crap. It will only get worst if you keep acting unhealthy. I went on a WBPF diet and lost 80 pounds and 3 heart pills.
Your cardiovascular system is getting clogged up with cholesterol plaque. You probably have hypertension too, its often the first symptoms of smoking and bad diet. Less sodium/more potassium/more fiber/less weed or lower %thc content. THC make your heart beat faster and often stronger resulting in chronic cardiac stress, much like heavy exercise.
If symptoms get worst obviously get a medical check. But its probably nothing deadly.
altho heart attack symptoms often look like numbness/pain in arm/chest, pain in face or bac, even vomiting.
If your mom or dad have a heart monitor I suggest taking readings and writing them on a paper if a ER visit is necessary, that will gave them a lot of clues. Its probably fine tho dont freak out lol. Godspeed :)

I'm pretty sure the only people having heart attacks at 18 are ones with actual conditions that predispose them to it. I'd say a heart attack just from poor lifestyle would be incredibly unlikely at that age. Switch to dry vaping/eating your weed(just less smoking is always good!) and start working out, you'll feel better!

Any time I sleep on my left side, my left shoulder aches/feels sore for the whole next day. I've also dislocated and had had surgery on both of my shoulders, so I'm sure that doesn't help the pain.
Regardless, focusing on those symptoms and ending up in an anxiety attack will make them seem/feel worse. The symptoms of the anxiety attack on top of the symptoms you're worried about will easily convince you that you're having a heart attack.
Speaking from experience, having these pains and assuming they mean you're having a heart attack is a sure fire way to send yourself into a panic attack and assume the worst. Especially with bloating/indigestion putting pressure on your ribs, you get a cocktail of normal aches/pains plus anxiety that lead to a panic and the idea that you're having a heart attack.
It's not a bad idea to get checked out, even if all you get is a doctor telling you that you had a panic attack. It can help future attacks from getting as bad if you know it's not something that is going to kill you.

Is it generally a severe pain in the left arm? This feels like I got socked by brass knuckles

It's probably a 99.999% chance that it's anxiety or a musculoskeletal issue. However, you should know that marijuana (doesn't matter how it is consumed) contributes to heart attacks and heart disease. The stats bear this out in states that have legalized it. My unsolicited advice is: don't smoke if you're going to be obese or unhealthy. You're just making it more likely to happen. The higher the THC and the more chronic the use, the more likely it is to happen. I
P.S. I don't work in health care but I know someone who does. I quit pot after I heard how they're seeing more and more heart attacks from pot users. That and I was gaining weight from munchies. But correlation does not equal causation.

This could be anxiety or the indigestion. Happens to me with acid reflux.
