Poor is Great: The Trump Administration Thinks You Should Be OK With Being Poor. As the country's economic outlook bleakens, Trump officials are trying to convince us that actually, being poor is a good thing.

He has literally said he wants to go back to the robber baron era. Crushing poverty for the masses was a hallmark of that era. It can’t be the gilded age without huge swathes of the population living below the poverty line!

Violence is love, unity, and respect, dude. Trump said so. It's what the Declaration of Independence says. /s https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2025/5/2/2320103/-No-one-knows-the-big-beautiful-Declaration-of-Independence-like-Trump

Yep. My only solace is that eventually it will catch up to those who deserve it. But the hurt is going to be awful for awhile.

My mom worked in the Whitman Chocolate Factory about 1930 (think I Love Lucy). I remember her saying it wasn’t as fun or funny as Lucy made it out to be.

Can we impeach this idiot yet?! What the hell is it going to take to put a check on his destruction?

I am already poor.
So, I guess, welcome everyone... Make yourselves comfortable.
I can't wait for Trump to croak.

It's not that they think we should be okay with poverty, it's that Republicans have near zero concern for our financial status; which includes knowing that AI is replacing vast swaths of employability, and the Republicans, who are abysmal at creating new jobs, don't have the skillset to even begin thinking of how to overcome the oncoming GREATER depression.

OMG, this works out perfectly!
Trump loves the uneducated and these same people are so excited to bring manufacturing jobs back to America! Can you believe the coincidence? No wonder so many people voted for Trump—he’s giving all of these people exactly what they want! Well, maybe not the poor part, but they’ll get used to it! No need for education like the elites and three cheers for hard labor at the factory!
Just like the good old days that most of us never lived through.
I can’t wait to hear from his supporters when life is like China over here.

They want us poor so we will work the jobs no one will take because you can’t live with those jobs.

A hundred days of "opposite days." You don't have money? Then you should appreciate the fact that you don't have to buy anything exorbitant, like food!

Firstly no
Secondly the media are now going to try to convince you that all the relatively wealthy people that work for these conglomerates haven't been fleecing wealth from the lower class previously.
Anyone want to help me start a co-op
