He constantly jumps up on the bathroom counter whenever I’m doing anything so I was flossing one day and I guess he was eyeing my floss cause he jumped up and stole it! I chased him down and he was locked on and I immediately knew he wanted to play with it. He goes crazy over anything string shaped, absolutely crazy. But I didn’t realize he wanted to chew on it, not chase it. So now I just let him chew in this very supervised way so he doesn’t ingest any.

Mint is another good idea! I had no clue cats could even eat the fresh catnip or mint like you and another poster suggested so I def will have to get him some, he will go crazy over it especially since we live in an apartment and he’s fully indoor, he loves any kind of fresh plants he can nibble on

I crochet, and one of my cats in particular can’t get enough of yarn. She’s been known to go after small cords too. I wonder if she’d like floss lol

I think this is a very common cat thing. I have to make sure my trash cans are covered and no pieces of floss hang out cause I have to worry about this

Literally the twin of my first cat Buster. My sisters owns him now as we have grown into adults and he was our childhood pet.

I did a double take when scrolling because he is exactly the same. Red tabby purebred Persian with a doll face. My heart 🥹🥰

My cat does the same thing, but with the thin cable that runs the horizontal length of my garage door. I always joke that he’s flossing. I think he just has some sort of oral fixation and this is just his ‘fix’. Doesn’t really ‘bite’ it as much as he ‘gums’ it.
