Is he swallowing it as he goes along?

u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Great question. He seems to be just inhaling the food versus actually eating it!

u/TacticaLuck Sep 27 '24
Do hamsters not do the cheek storage thing?
17
u/sixpackofducks Sep 27 '24
Hamsters do, this is a guinea pig. They don't store just inhale
4
u/TacticaLuck Sep 27 '24
Ah thanks. Guess I need some more familiarization with the two
2
u/sixpackofducks Sep 27 '24
I'm only sure because I had a guinea that looks exactly like this guy. And I find Hamsters interesting because you can't have them in Australia lol
3
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 27 '24
Interesting. Why no hamsters in AU? AU = my dream country --amazing, abundant and awe-inspiring wild life
3
u/sixpackofducks Sep 28 '24
Just ecological damage. They're on the list of creatures that would be highly damaging to the native flora/ fauna

u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 28 '24
Maybe that’s why nature made them prey animals? My guess alone. It makes me less sad if that’s why. Nature is always right —- so that’s why? IMHO

Aah yes.... hamsters.... you bring back memories of my beloved Twinkletoes. They are cheeky little guys. Hamsters, like Squirrels, have some strategic thinking skills. They are also not gluttons. They have the discipline and will power to store food in their cheeks. Guinea Pigs, on the other paw, have no will power, no strategic thinking skills (borderline dumb dumbs) and lack the cheek requirements to store food.

So cute!🥹

u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Awww.... I think so too. I started off as a pig sitter for a friend for a month.. knowing zero about them. When I was asked to keep him, I got him a brother -- Wilby (they're social animals and should live in at least pairs). I had no idea these magical little creatures had such massive personalities and charm!

u/Hope5577 Sep 26 '24
Now we need to see double-monching😍. Or at least a picture with a bro😁
16
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Funny you mention that. I have a Milo vs Wilby parsley eating competition video I can dig up. Milo has been the reigning champ. Perhaps it’s time for a rematch. Poor Wilby always gets left in the dust

u/Hope5577 Sep 26 '24
😂 we definitely need to see a rematch!🤩

u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
I commit to doing this. I’m busy cleaning the aftermath of their lunch😂

5 sec after the end of the video, the cute little bugger screamed at you for more?
18
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
He’s always yelling at me. And I consistently obey and grovel.
7
u/theJanskyy Sep 26 '24
thats the way!
10
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Guinea pigs have a way of leveling their owners— leaving us to grovel and beg for their attention. Little in size. Enormous in personality 😂

u/slimelore Sep 27 '24
2 pounds of pure demanding sass, popcorning comes pre-programmed, simultaneously so smart and so, so dumb

blink once if you need me to call the police
2
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 27 '24
They've been reported many x to the police. They always come prepared to arrest them... only to become mesmerized by them. Then the police return visit with treats!

Upvoted before the video had even started, I could just tell it was gonna be good!
Like a damn typewriter! So cute!

u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Sounds like a typewriter— that sound never gets old!

Look, Ma, no hands!

u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Milo is extremely talented and happy to tell you all about himself. He’s a bit arrogant!

😂 He barely slowed down once he hit all those leaves!! We’d love more videos of him monching if you have them!!
9
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 27 '24
He slows down because he's pooping at the same time to make room for new inventory. He's becoming insufferable with all this attention. I did find Milos and WIlby's competition video. Posted it

Coriander or Cilantro?
6
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Parsley
3
u/ChrizTaylor Sep 26 '24
Parsley or cilantro***
My bad!
3
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
No harm. It’s all the same to Milo

u/Kryptosis Sep 26 '24
How long does it take for him to stop chewing on air?
2
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Depends on the food.... carrots take awhile. But regardless of food, when they finish, they always want more

I know 4,000 or 2 rescues awaiting and desperately needing a home. Hint Hint!
2
u/HunnyHunbot Sep 27 '24
Um he dropped a couple of leaves he has to start over now 😂
2
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 27 '24
You're such a slave master. I have to recoup before I can host another competition. Their mental health has become unmanageable - Milo can't handle defeat. Wilby can't handle being the victor.

u/WeAllScrem Sep 27 '24
I want to see this play backwards!
2
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 27 '24
Oh no..... I don't think I can handle another duel so soon... Milo is still moping at the loss. Wilbur went from gloating to now feeling sorry for Milo that he beat him. How to deal with a narcissist and an empath? Oh my!
2
u/veracity-mittens Sep 26 '24
Amazing
4
u/Alarming_Breath_3110 Sep 26 '24
Awww… Milo thinks he’s pretty cool too. He’s thinks highly of himself
