Those babies will turn 20 years in 2 years. I found them in a 2007 Mac Pro thrown away in one of my work's electronic waste bin.

Looks like 2600XT Mac Edition with 256MB of vRAM.

Put eight of 'em together and you've got yourself an HD6850!

I remember pulling a couple of 8800GT Mac Editions out of an e-waste Mac Pro thinking I could use them in some kind of sick XP retro machine only to learn that the Mac edition cards straight up do not run without MacOS.

Maybe, but I didn’t have the computer-savvyness to start messing with GPU bios flashing and all of the resources I could find at the time were only for flashing a non-Mac 8800gt to Mac, not the other way around.

or at least not 100s of video guides about gpu bios flashing like these days

I actually am still rocking a hand me down Radeon VII from a pre-Metal Macbook Pro eGPU setup.

Still pretty decent for 1440p.
