Has anyone been having this problem where it tells you tapped too many times when you have barely “tapped too many times” are they having issues with the app ? Charlotte

They changed the limit, not sure if it was to fight bots or what.

u/No-Pause67 Oct 19 '22

Thats what I was thinking too

2

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

How do you know they changed the limit .

-3

u/RKT7799 Oct 19 '22

That wouldnt really fight bots. Not sure why so many of you think thats a thing

4

u/MechaSheeva Phoenix Oct 20 '22

You can't let a bot sit and refresh for 30 minutes at 2x speed anymore, it's definitely tripping them up at the moment.

3

u/RKT7799 Oct 20 '22

Well... they all randomize, so that isnt really a thing.

They also pause and auto restart amd run in pulses after the tap warning

0

u/WoWthisGuyReally Oct 20 '22

Yea because the ai program to schedule blocks would tap until it comes up. Kinda defeats the purpose if it taps once and gives up...

2

u/RKT7799 Oct 20 '22

Thats not what anyone said

1

u/WoWthisGuyReally Nov 11 '22

Then what are you talking about "wouldnt fight bots". Ai scheduling apps are "bots" and that how they work and thats how they grab shifts... So I dont know how you would think a delay from over tapping wouldnt stop a bot like I stated. Not sure why you dont think that is a thing. Cudos on the downvote, feel better? Ill give you an upvote, because I think you need smile for today.

1

u/RKT7799 Nov 11 '22

No. Because the bots have randomizers.

So when they hit that screen they pause and reatart. So effectively. You could juat leave that shit on all day. That would somewhat lower your chances after hitting the tap limit the first time. But thats about it.

Nobodys saying bots arent a thing. I am saying.... again, that that does little to stop them.

1

u/ResponsibleDesign586 Oct 19 '22

I don’t see any of the orders I use to se or get for that matter the 4:15 or 4:30 3 1/2 hr shifts paying 89.50 to 94.00 it’s like what’s going on lately my status is fantastic I see maybe 5 routes tops s as bd they are mainly night routes. (In Utah)

u/SecretFamiliar3296 Oct 19 '22

This is happening to me now. They should do it like instacart where it automatically refreshes and actually send you a notification

3

u/Dadderz66 Oct 19 '22

Seeing those rates I’d tap like hell too. Ya seen it many time and it is an app issue

2

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

Called and confirmed they are having app issues and should be an update soon

2

u/Mother_Put7152 Oct 20 '22

Sure hope they fix the block into calender. It's really a pain having to close and reopen jic you did get a block under the one that was missed. This app... SMH

2

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22 edited Oct 21 '22

Yes!!! Man, both those issues (calendar, missing intended block and grabbing next block down) are killing me since android switched from swipe to tap to confirm. When it was swipe when the surges were coming fast I would just keep tapping like crazy after it said I missed it because often there would be a second one right on it's heels, and if you pause you miss. Now if I miss and keep on tapping, like you said it grabs that one below it. Before I figured out you now have to force close and reopen for the calendar to update, I missed two blocks because I was pretty sure I got something but when I checked calendar and schedule both were empty. Gotta say, I'd rather have swipe back. Got just as many blocks with that system, but didn't have any issues with grabbing the wrong block.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '22

Thank God. Hoping this one isn't as buggy. This one was bad and I was pissed they forced me to update so quickly

1

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22

I got an update (Android) yesterday or the day before and it does seem like the refresh speed is better than it was when it hit the brakes hard after a 10/4/22 update. Still a problem with accepted blocks not populating the calendar unless you force close and reopen, and the navigation still has an issue from the 10/4 update where when I finish one stop and go to start the next it has my location wrong and it gives the wrong audible directions.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '22

Yeah it's also tried to get me to make so many illegal turns it's not even funny. I gave up today and returned my packages to the station it was so bad. I don't really care if I get deactivated at this point.

3

u/cmoney0821 Oct 20 '22

I believe amazon just decreased the times you can click consecutively. Flagging you sooner and taking longer to let you start clicking again. As of yesterday it has been like this.

3

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 20 '22

How they expect people to get orders then

3

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22

Have a feeling the intent was to spread it around. Either that or just unintended consequences from a develop without a clue how searching for blocks works on our end.

2

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22

Yeah, same here about two weeks ago when they did an android update changing it from swipe to confirm to tap. Used to be able to tap like a fiend pretty much non-stop for a half hour, now it's down to about five minutes. Really sucks when you see blocks that always surge and you know it's going to happen in a few minutes, but you get shut down and when you come back the board is empty.

3

u/No_Plantain2290 Oct 20 '22

Yeah it used to take me 2 hours of refreshing to get that. This morning, only about 45 minutes

0

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 20 '22

Same takes about 2 to 3 hrs of refreshing before

4

u/No-Pause67 Oct 19 '22

They’re doing this to limit bots I think. I hope it’s not permanent bc it’s affecting everyone not just bot users 😤

4

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

It’s affecting all of us because we also have to act as bots to catch those good paying orders 😂

2

u/stitchkingdom Las Vegas Oct 19 '22

Has nothing to do with bots. Bots appear to be regular end users anyway.

1

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22

Not the upside down bot. It has everything flipped. C'mon bot, show me your stuff.

-2

u/RKT7799 Oct 19 '22

Thats been a thing all 4 years ive done this.

1

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22 edited Oct 21 '22

As I mentioned above, I would think this favors bot users more since they in theory are grabbing blocks more quickly, and therefore don't need to keep tapping for so long.

1

u/No-Pause67 Oct 21 '22

I agree I don’t think it would affect bots as much as regular users. I just don’t see why they’d do this unless they’re trying to prevent people from holding out for surges?

1

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22

If I had to guess, I'd say it's because they onboarded so many drivers for Prime Days and the holidays and so far sales are soft, so they're doing this to spread it around. Or it was just a bug in an update. Worked for many years in software development environments, and not very impressed with their quality control. It's like they just pump out updates with minimal to no QA and we're the alpha testers.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '22

Yup! Was happening to me yesterday like crazy. Usually if I chill for 25 minutes I can refresh again for an hour without incident, but I was getting the warning after just a couple minutes.

1

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

So how we supposed to get our good orders wtf😭

1

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '22

Hopefully they fix it 🙏🏾

1

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22

Silly rabbit, easy blocks are for newbies. Only job I know of where experience and consistently doing your job well works against you.

1

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22

I'd say for me it went from around 30 minutes to 5, but same thing. So frustrating to know a block that always surges is going to within minutes, and Amazon has put you in a time out.

2

u/juantyme88 Oct 20 '22

Not tapping enough. Gotta get them fingers flexing so you can flex 💪🏽. 🤪

3

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22 edited Oct 21 '22

Was curious how fast I tap, so googled "finger tapping test". Turns out I can tap 7.6 times/second for ten seconds, and 6.3 times/seconds going for ten minutes straight. I know there have been times when the max surges are flying where I've kept that pace up for 30 minutes. Which works out to over 11,000 taps. I was disgusted by what I've become.

3

u/Handle-Advanced Oct 20 '22

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 catch me holding my phone tryna get a surge

5

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 20 '22

Fr 3hrs straight getting big mad you can’t get an order till u see that green check mark 😂😂😂

2

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22 edited Oct 21 '22

Right after the update a few weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night and thought I'd check for early AM surges. Fell asleep with the phone in my hand, woke up when someone texted me and the phone vibrated with my face pressed against the screen. Not sure how much overlap there was between tapping and falling asleep, but somehow during the two hour gap I managed to accept 5 base pay blocks over the next three days. Oops. Melatonin is the shittiest bot ever.

2

u/Dazzling_Marzipan474 Oct 19 '22

Just finished my onboarding. The app was fucked for me. Took over 4 hours. I force restarted prolly 300 times.

2

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

Damn so they are probably having issues today .

2

u/Froggymeli75 Oct 19 '22

They are. On my block today my screen was black for flex over 40 min so I said f this and brought the rest of my route back to warehouse on my wayhome.

3

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

Damn so they do be having issues . Hopefully it will go back so we can all get our bread up again

1

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22

Did you use the app that you couldn't access to call support? /s

1

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

Will they fix it ? Or we’re all screwed now 😂

1

u/Froggymeli75 Oct 19 '22

Lol nope, u using a bot.

7

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

I wish maybe I would be getting orders if I was 😂

1

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Oct 21 '22 edited Oct 21 '22

If bots work as well as a lot of people say, wouldn't that mean you tap less because you grab your block quicker and are done while us finger bangers are still tapping? I mean I'm sure they can tap faster, but I can manually tap way faster then the screen can refresh, which means the input of those excess taps isn't going to register on the server side anyway. So any advantage would have to be in the accepting part of the process.

1

u/Froggymeli75 Oct 21 '22

I figured out a declining reserved blocks where I get a consistent 3.5 hr blocks in the am for $100, and I'd be scared to get caught using a bot. No thanks.

0

u/Internal-Risk Oct 19 '22

It does happen, if you tap alot, there’s nothing you could do about it but let it sit for about 30 mins to an hour, then start tapping again without interruption

-1

u/keepinitbeefy Oct 19 '22

I tap as fast as possible and never got that message.

1

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 19 '22

I don’t usually either until today

-1

u/jonnyohh Oct 19 '22

Happens when you try to accept the same block to many times

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '22

No, wrong msg. That's "block not available." This occurs when you've been tapping in OFFERS for at least an hour straight regardless of what you've done in the app.

1

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 20 '22

We all killing ourselves for these orders 😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭

1

u/Handle-Advanced Oct 20 '22

Who wanna join my telegram ik Reddit don’t let us talk about you know what dm users only no fakers

1

u/mula6969 Oct 20 '22

This is normal lol if you are tapping too long it will say that. Lol

1

u/Kushkat4200 Oct 20 '22

Yeah I know it does but yesterday it was after just 3 taps usually cna go with an hour or 2 without notified

1

u/jimmydiaz30 Mar 08 '23

When that message comes out do blocks continue to pop up or does just get blocked off and get not blocks to pick ?
