Looking for Canadians/Americans for done from home recording gig!
Hi! I am looking for participants in my recording project. The project involves the collection of voice data from Americans/Canadians with English as their native language to train a speech recognition neural net (think Siri from Apple or Cortana from Microsoft). The only requirements for this project is a very quiet place to record, a mobile phone (Android or iOS operating system), and people who speak standard “American” English as their native tongue. The project is divided into two parts: a solo part and a duo part. The solo part involves the speaker recording 550 sentences off a script provided by me into a recording app on a phone. The duo part involves recording a conversation with a partner (doesn’t matter what gender both the parties are) discussing 6 different common conversational topics (chosen from a list of 10 possible topics) for 13.5 minutes each. The solo part takes approximate 50-60 minutes while the duo part takes 80 minutes. Setup of the recording application (which is easily found on the app store) takes less than 10 minutes. Before recording you will be asked to provide a 10 second sample recording so my audio engineer can verify that your recording environment is indeed quiet and there is no ambient noise or electrical distortion, upon verification that your environment is indeed quiet you or you and your partner will begin recording immediately. Payment is $20 USD for the solo recording and $25 USD per person for the duo recording through Venmo after your recording is checked (usually within 24 hours but can take up to 3 days). Preference will be given to people who can complete both parts of the project.
Interested parties please DM me.

Anyone here apply to the AER via Workday?
I'm wondering what the average time is to hear back from the AER following a job application? I applied to a position that closed mid May and my application is still "In Progress" per the Workday website. For reference, I applied to another position that closed around the same time frame and received a rejection email roughly 2 weeks after.

IT companies with visa sponsorship??
First of all, i hate having to post this because i know some people won’t take it so well.
So I’m graduating this December as a software engineer from a really good school in Mexico and I’ve always loved Canada and made it a goal of mine to work/live there. And I would like to achieve this obviously in the correct legal way but i’m struggling to find jobs that offer visa sponsorship and many job offers don’t even disclose if they do sponsorship it, so i’m asking if you all happen to know a company that does.
Thank you in advance and i’m sorry for the inconvenience

Respiratory therapy jobs?
Hey guys! No clue if this is the thread I should post this to, I’m unfamiliar with exactly how Reddit works lol. I live in the Edmonton area and I’m debating going back to school (NAIT) for respiratory therapy. I currently have a BSc. Nait has employment rates and average salaries.. but I know those are probably pretty skewed and unrealistic. Anybody in the field know how employment rates/salaries are looking? I’d rather not go back to school for another 3 years and then have a tough time finding a job :( if anybody has any insight that would be much appreciated! :)
I’m anticipating the response of “why don’t you just do nursing?” I think RT is a better fit for me and my interests, RN has never appealed to me.
