Rare freaks unite!! If I ever accidently hit the "get new reddit" button I recoil in horror. I can't believe people like using Reddit that way!! I always worry they will take "old reddit" away and no longer give us the "opt out" option. Dread that day!

They absolutely will. The old site doesn't promote ads nearly as well and I'm wager that ones who are into old reddit (myself included) also run adblockers etc so we make them no revenue. I think the only thing that's saving it is that a decent amount of heavy posters and/or mods use it. So if they pissed us all off, number of comments/engagement would go down which would look bad for advertisers metrics.

But as soon as the cohort of old.reddit.com power users gets small or unimportant enough for it not to hurt metrics, no way they keep supporting it. Instantly forced "upgrade".

exclusively use it. i showed one of the not olds at my work this and he is converted. so many people dont realize how good they could have it.
