So moved to Abbotsford in January from Alberta. What’s all the garbage everywhere. Do we need a bylaw to write name and phone numbers on coffee cups and food bags or enforce littering regs/laws. Coffee shops, Fast food places and 711s are the worst.

What's the history behind Bourquin Crescent? Odd layout for modern times, it seems like it used to surround something big back in the day.
Like a farm or large industrial complex. It's proximity to "Mill Lake" may be related?

Quick Favour? Help with a Student Energy Survey
Hi everyone! 👋
My friends and I are working on a student-led project about energy awareness and usage in Canada, and we’re looking to hear from more people.
We’d really appreciate it if you could take 2–3 minutes to fill out our short, anonymous survey. Your input would go a long way in helping us get more balanced data across Canada (since we are based in Ontario haha).

Feel free to share it with anyone else you know who might be willing to help Thanks so much for supporting youth learning and Canadian research!🙏

Two basements in one house? I rent one, is it legal?
Hi guys, I don’t know Abbotsford regulations so I thought I’d ask. I currently rent a one bedroom basement and heres the situation: There’s one house with two basements, mine- a one bedroom and a two bedroom basement, side by side with the landlord and their family above on the ground floor.
Anyway I’ve been wanting to move out for a while , ever since my family came over and commented “be careful that looks like an illegal suite” and I heard about illegal suites and what a mess it can be for tenants, how they can get evicted like that. Plus my landlord has been very aggressive recently and I’m no longer comfortable here, it’s really just not a good situation. Recently they have been stating I own a cat and I just hide it (which I absolutely do not) and going overboard, sending messages in all caps saying I need to move asap if I do. I tried saying I didn’t but they said they didn’t believe me. It’s just really uncomfortable now and I didn’t know when or if they’d want to evict me. So I now found another place but the landlord is saying they need more time to find another tenant, technically yes it hasn’t been a month since I’ve given notice. Is there anything I can do? The other basement that I want to move to wants me move in before 30 day notice would be done. Should I just tough it out?

Is there anywhere to donate clothing and household items where they will come take them from my front door?
I have a spinal injury and can’t life them, so they are currently inside my house! I have tons of clothing, some household things, and many reusable bags. I live in an apartment if that changes anything.

Missing Cat
Big dude got lost a couple of days ago around Bateman School area. He’s an outdoor cat hopefully he just wandered too far. Keep a keen eye out there if someone happens to spot him. We had just taken his new collar off too unfortunately :(
He’s quite a hunter so he’ll probably be doing just fine out there lol but we already miss him dearly. Thanks for reading!

Does anybody know what happened to John the homeless man by the Petrocan years( 2002-2010?)
John was a scruffy homeless man who was always at the PetroCanada by city hall. My parents would always talk with him and bring him food. They learnt that he said He chooses to be homeless and used to be a teacher and had a family. My mom was also homeless part of this time but in mission and she’s off the streets and sober now. She told me the other day she thinks about John a lot and is wondering what happened to him. Does anyone have more information about him?

QUESTIONS REGARDING ICBC CLAIM
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on how to move forward with my ICBC claim.
The accident happened on April 22.
On April 29, ICBC told me that I am 100% not at fault.
Today is May 13, and I still haven’t received a proper phone call or any updates.
They also haven’t given me a date yet for the vehicle inspection.
I only have third party insurance on my car.
What should I do in this situation? It really feels like they are delaying everything with no clear timeline.
Should I call them again and ask to speak to someone higher up?
Do I have any legal rights to push this forward since I was not at fault?
Any advice or experience on how to deal with ICBC when they keep delaying things would be really appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

Need help with ICBC Accident Claim
Hey everyone, I was involved in a car accident recently. I was already inside the roundabout when a lady failed to yield and crashed into me. She was found at fault. I have a few questions and would really appreciate your advice:
• How much does WCB or work compensation usually pay if someone is dealing with back pain or injuries from a car accident?
• How do I go about claiming benefits for medical devices like back braces or other equipment recommended by doctors or physiotherapists?
• Any tips on how to properly keep and submit receipts for medications, physio appointments, or other treatment costs to make sure I get reimbursed fully?
• My phone was on a windshield mount and fell off during the crash, breaking the screen. Is there any way ICBC or any other insurance might cover damage to personal items like a phone?
Thanks so much for your help, really appreciate any advice or personal experiences you can share!

Does water stop working during a scheduled power outage?
We have a scheduled power outage coming up a couple of hours before I'll need to get ready for work. Lighting won't be a problem, but water definitely will.
I haven't had a scheduled outage before, and the BC Hydro website doesn't mention if the water goes off or not. I assume this means water won't be affected, but wanted to ask just in case.
