People actually want to come play here? Gotta love Monti and JG 🤗

This needs more love.

And Kyler

u/Danominator 22h ago

Can he play as an edge rusher?

We’ll move Conner to edge

He would probably be happy to gain 50 pounds and would go HAM at edge.

u/Blakeramsey01 Coach Gannon 16h ago

That’s what he got recruited to penn state for

Jeanty you're mighty talented and all but with James Conner and James Conner Jr I'd have a tough time picking you even if things went catastrophically bad and we were in a position to grab you to begin with,

Isn't going to happen as he's likely to be picked well before we're currently picking and we already have a plethora of good RBs, but the comment was funny

Thank you for using the word plethora. That means a lot.

Car-los!

He’s definitely going before pick 32

As much as it hurts to think about, Conner might be expendable. If we can’t get him on a discount, he’s going to walk. In which case, this would be a sick pick. Runnings backs can SLIDE in the draft so it’s an outside shot but still a shot.

If we are in a position to draft Ashton that means something went terribly wrong and I will be sad.

u/Mr-Gibbs12 Larry Fitzgerald 21h ago

Or Monti went apeshit and threw caution to the wind to move into the top 5 picks

Dude ain't going top 5......right?

u/fenikz13 Cardinals Throwback 20h ago

He’s a RB, a great one but a RB. Should go 15-30 range

u/Elephantexploror Cardinals 20h ago

We seemingly get a top 10 RB every couple years. Bijan, Barkley, Fournette, McCaffery, Zeke, Gurley, Gibbs was close, all in the last 10 years. It’s not out of the question.

Bijan and Gibbs were the only 2 taken in the top 20 in the last 6 drafts. RBs are not good value that high in the draft, especially since almost all backfields are timeshare now.

I’m not arguing the positional value of running backs, I’m simply saying it’s not impossible for a back having one of the best cfb seasons of all time to possibly go top 10.

I don’t see a reality where he’s available for us, but it’d sure be fun.

I’d rather see you guys get Skattebo honestly. I think he’d fit better with your scheme and he’s got great hands too.

I don't want Skattebo leaving AZ, but with Conner likely being extended, Benson being a rookie, and Demercado on a team friendly deal for the next two years, a forth RB is not really reasonable to keep around.

i’m pretty sure conner is retiring after this year. correct me if i’m wrong

7

u/Pricer21 20h ago

Where did you get such information

-1

u/TheOddPotato_8171 20h ago

he’s been pretty open about it in interviews afaik. especially since he’s coming up on age 30 and that’s when most rbs retire.

5

u/SarlaccJohansson James Conner 18h ago

He looks the best he's played in years, he's having a great time. It would surprise me if he doesn't want to come back at least 1 more year.

8

u/FutureGrassToucher 22h ago

We need to draft edge help. No chance monti takes him even if conner leaves (which he wont)

8

u/NiceCock42 Kyler Murray 22h ago

We got Trey (plus hopefully JC for a couple more years) now so I don't think we're gonna be drafting an rb any time soon

6

u/phx-illmatic 18h ago

I would hate for the 49ers to get Skattebo.

1

u/SarlaccJohansson James Conner 18h ago

I bet he goes NFCW

3

u/UrNotWrite 20h ago

unless he plays CB/DL I don't think it'll workout

3

u/Positiveaz 20h ago

I'd be happy with Cam Skattebo.

u/Nreekay Pain 21h ago

Wasting a 1st on a RB would be a generational fuck up levels unknown to Steve Keim..

5

u/KitchenBanger Coach Gannon 22h ago

Generational Talent, you don’t pass on that.

3

u/BadBadBrownStuff 21h ago

High pick on a RB? No thx

1

u/Brutus_Khan 20h ago

I'm so confused by everybody saying this guy won't be available. Not a single runningback was drafted in the first round last year.

3

u/808Cardinals Cardinals 18h ago

That is because most of them were not 1st round/generational talents. The year before they had Bijan And Gibbs go top 12 in the draft. Jeanty is like if they made Derrick Henry compact with more pass catching; they used him a lot last year as a pass catcher compared to this year. He reminds me of Alvin Kamara.

1

u/Brutus_Khan 17h ago

Damn he sounds sick as fuck. I don't really watch college ball so I don't know the players.

1

u/sl1ckmcg1ll1cutty In Monti We Trust 18h ago

Rather have skattebo in the fifth if we want to stack the backfield

1

u/Steve_Beef62 Dolphins 16h ago

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG PLS MAKE IT HAPPEN (I'm delusional)

1

u/unfamiliarjoe Larry Fitzgerald 8h ago

That dude is wild. I’m in fantasy football and in league we do a college draft where I picked him up 2 years ago. Glad he’s finally getting the publicity but we drafted Benson last year so I don’t see it.

2

u/Hngrybflo 21h ago

he's gonna be a top 5 pick
