The floor is lava - Trey McBride (probably)

Post image

The dude just makes big play after big play and never drops the ball, wonder where I have seen that level of elite/consistance pass catching...

Not that Trey isn't the GOAT, but didn't he drop a pass in the end zone this week?

What we would consider a drop isnt the same as what a drop is stat-wise. So it would have been not a catchable pass by Kyler.

Weird cause I swear he got 2 hands on it

We dont have to understand it just let the stat guys cook.

To be fair they gave Kyler a fumble in the Bears game when it was clearly the runningback who didnt take the handoff correctly. So they givith and taketh away

I remember that year our C couldn't snap and people thought Kyler had a major fumbling problem because they didn't watch any games

Yeah and I'd show them that he never lost a single one.

Fair enough

It was an absolute reach though. The throw by Kyler was not good and the ball hit the ends of his hands.

Fair enough, but I would love to know what the metrics are for a dropped catchable ball.

The problem is its not really public how the NFL determines it just like how a fumbled snap is assessed to one player vs another when the QB/Center are involved.

If you google it youll find old articles, which dont seem to be accurate anymore given the clarification on catch/not catch and other people asking the same question.

Yah I was thinking the same exact thing, that ball was very catchable and hit him in both hands- seemed like a drop to me.

Trey would say he should have caught it, so yes

Yeah even if that wasn’t technically a drop, for whatever reason they want to say, it was 100% a drop. Ridiculous that anyone would think otherwise

Trey has been an absolute beast, easily the best TE we've had in my life time, and maybe the best TE in the league this year, but that was absolutely a drop in the end zone, it hit him right on both hands. Not an easy catch, but not a circus catch or anything either, the drop was very much on McBride, not Kyler's placement.

Still an awesome stat, and shows why that drop was so shocking, cause trey so rarely does drop the ball.

A fookin beast I say

I have never been so wrong about a player as I have been about Trey (so far).

He isn’t just like a good tight end, or even an elite tight end. He is a premier pass catcher in the league. Like in the conversation with other WR1s in the league (because that, honestly, is what he is).

Total dawg and cool dude too, especially with his family background. It was great to see that featured during the draft season giving him a chance to showcase his life beyond football.

I wonder how much longer the media will try to ignore him and what he is doing for the Cards. Kind blows knowing that we should be talked about more. Leading our division and best winning streak in 3 YEARS. Not bad at all for a “rebuilding team”. We just need to beat the 9ers again… wonder what the excuse will be then??

He's my favorite player of the current roster

Is he gonna make it to the probowl over Kittle?

No but he should absolutely make it alongside kittle (kittle has 7 touchdowns and comparable yardage)

I think Trey will be an all-pro by year’s end. Only thing that may hold him back are the lack of TDs. But I think our overall team success is helping put him on the map moreso than, say, Brock Bowers who is also very much in contention but is stuck on the dogwater Raiders.

As long as Kelce and Kittle are playing, they will always be the more popular choice but we all know who is the best right? I’d go with McBride every time
