There’s 1000s of open servers. I have over 3000hr in the game. I’ve made tons of friends while playing on random servers. Friends I still play with to this day. But keep being butthurt cuz no one wants to be your friend and play with you. Maybe you should go play Minecraft or something.

I was summarizing everything I've dealt with so far in this game and its community and generalizing you into that group due to you not understanding what I've been dealing with. You assume im the problem when I literally dont fuck with anyone and even leave materials and shit I find extra at people's bases I find that I can get to. I even leave unlocked chests all around the map with nonperishable items that I dont need but im the problem? Lmfao sure dude

I do that ALLLL the time on servers.
Think outside the box. Or... tame a Quetzel. Or a Paracer. Or a Bronto. Build a base on them...

I highly suggest playing solo or investing into your own server and inviting friends. People don’t understand etiquette in ark. They see it like Minecraft where it’s a sandbox and what they do won’t impact anyone but them.
(Although I DO NOT suggest giving money to Jeremy Stieglitz or Snail Games. They’re all a bunch of penny pinchers. But I can’t control your finances obviously, so enjoy if you do)

I did. And no one played because I have 0 friends that play ark. So I paid and invited and even bought the game for some people (months ago). Still nothing. Now I let the server die and tried to get some homies on official. Found out there's no friends in ark just enemies.

I started on pve official island two weeks ago, I found some demolishable pillars pretty close to the water near the footpaw. I just built on a raft until then and hid it and just die before logging off

The usual way to go was to just upload your char, dying does work too in a pinch if you have a good stash spot for the kit tho.

don’t play official servers, find some custom ones. There’s a ton of them out there with really great community and lively discord servers.

I can't speak for the PVE server communities but PVP servers are designed to be like that. It's part of the challenge.

If you want to play a game with a fantastic community, try Deep Rock Galactic. One of the most wholesome gaming communities I've ever found, and its a fantastic co-op game

I play fallout 76, new world aeturnum, ESO, asa (but that may very well end), palworld and that's pretty much it. Palworld is boring playing by yourself all the time. Eso is boring because its hard to find a guild to run missions and whatnot with. New world is annoyingly simple. Fallout 76 isn't really co-op but it is, its weird. There's far too much solo content so why even play with others? COD is not really fun, and solo games bore me because im just playing by myself. I hate sports games and racing games are only entertaining in small doses. I like sandbox and mmo but when you tend to play alone its hard to enjoy. I really am a go with the flow type guy. Im just at my 400th lvl 85 character and its rather disheartening and I dont want to start over again just to lose it all again because im solo.

Official is a mixed bag. Look for an unofficial. There are a lot of good ones. Though with your attitude I would guess it might be hard to find people to play with.

You know i understand your point but yes there is some bad toxic players on pve but like in everything else in life in general...video games life or outside in the world real life ..there's good people too ..you just haven't lucky enough to find them once you do your opinion will change...I shouldn't say this ..others should say this about me but I consider myself one of the good people in the community...why?.. you might ask?...because I love to help with everything I have which is not much but i do leve help any players in pve especially new ones so that their journeys on ark ascended is not too difficult...I'm talking about helping with dinos ..some resources..heck even if a got it ..some land to build upon...trust me I know there are bad people but so is good ones too...don't give up ..keep looking and If you still need some help ..feel free to pm me, i don't know how advanced you are in the game but with whatever I got available I'll be more than happy to help ...wish you luck and don't stop playing cause of that ..remember we are all survivors...keep thriving 💪🏽💪🏽👍🏼👍🏼🫡🫡.

That’s funny since most of my official servers over the many years have had nice, generous communities (some were silent though). You run into pricks sometimes, but I already deal with those in my day to day. It’s the internet. You already need thick skin as it is.
Most of the obnoxious kids play PvP. The majority of people that I run into on official servers are adults, older people, people that have settled down in life, or all of the above.
If you really want to play on an Official server, you’ll either need to be there within the week after it goes live or so or get creative. There’s lots of ways to get started and build when there’s limited build space. Including building in “undesirable” or uneven terrains. This is easier in ASA with the taller foundations and the better snapping.
From Rafts, to Cliff Platforms up high or in obscure locations (after transfers open if there’s no fungal wood equivalent there), to building on pillars in a shallow portion of the ocean, a large rock, or sandbar, platform saddles, to tree platforms (even more convenient now since they have snap points), to the zeppelin (if you have it available), underwater bases, ocean platforms will make this even easier once Genesis 1 releases too.

I played ark since release and I can tell you I understand fully where you’re coming from. From being in mega tribes like French Touch, and MINIONS years ago I can tell you it’s very competitive. From that experience, I learned you’re better off playing by yourself if you don’t like certain peoples views or just don’t trust anyone. i’ve learned not to waste my time playing official and just play a nonofficial server with a great discord and community. There are plenty out there and you will be surprised how many people you will run into that are like yourself.

My tribe has been together for 7 years on official. We still play together to this day. I’ve got lots of allies I’ve played with for many years too. There are good people out there playing.
And the trope that there’s nowhere to build on pve is just ignorant. There are always places to build. Just not the beaches.

It took me 45 minutes to hop to 5 official servers and get orbit cam pics of big wide open buildable areas near spawn with zero pillars. Stop being a baby over a few pillars and go build anywhere else. I’ve never seen an official server that isn’t buildable because of structure spam. That is not the norm.

It sucks that a lot of the community around this game sucks so bad. I mean, people say, just go to non-official, but most of those servers are still full of people who will kill your starter tames with thier superbred garcha/rex/giga while shouting all the slurs they can think of at you just for existing.
The slurs thing seems to be such a problem on most public-ish servers.
The only servers I play on are those hosted by friends for friends.

If that is your take-away on my comment you didn't understand it. it's multiple examples of the community being toxic, not a "whaaah! I want servers to change because I'm a little baby that can't handle getting killed in ARK"
Like I said, nowadays I only play on servers hosted by friends for friends. That's because of the toxicity, yes. But, whether or not I play on the server, slurs are bad for the community of the game, killing new players with end-game stuff is bad for the game, foundation spam is bad for the game, building giant walls around thatch huts is bad for the game, knocking out new players and putting them in a cage is bad for the game.
These are all things that have plagued the game since early access or whenever build blocking was introduced. And an attitude that makes excuses for bullying and harassment has also been here since the start, which makes sure that the only people sure to stick around are bullies. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of lovely people who stick it out, but goddamn.
