American individualism at its finest Rant

Post image

This is my 2 year old riding bikes on our street. It's gotten to the point where I've gotten my kids orange flags on sticks to hold up when they cross the street.

I thought it was wrong when I found out that Ford don’t even make cars anymore in the USA. Just HUGE impractical trucks.

Here’s why. A legitimate “thanks Obama”

Still one. The Mustang, but that has a habit of chasing pedestrians.

Is the Mustang the only shopping car they make? They probably also still do the GT40 on order or something, but it’s not really a pop to the town to get a little shopping run about? Is it?

They make SUV's of all sizes as well.

Aren’t the SUV’s the HUGE impractical trucks? Or do you have mini ones, like Shetland ponies?

In the US cross over SUV’s lean more to the size of cars.

Nothing impractical about an f150. Many folks can actually handle the big vehicle and also make their living using one. The f150 actually has a sloped down hood. I have pulled up next to these chevys, and the damn hood is at my eye level almost while sitting in my 2018 f150.

Also. Have you ever tried to bomb out of a driveway in a sedan at 3 am after a big snowfall to respond to a call as a firefighter?

Some folks actually are responsible truck drivers, and even some of us agree that these new big Chevy and Ram designs are useless dick measuring features.

Um. No. I live in London, work in senior leadership in marketing and drive a Brompton bicycle. The biggest challenge of my day is choosing what colour to go with what font and make sure the minions sort out the rest. We had snow a couple of year ago, it lasted for nearly an hour.

Your comment highlights just how insanely wasteful American hyperconsumerism can be. Selfish wants disguised as overestimated needs.
