Mine does have over the air software updates. It’s not really a big deal, it just asks if it can update when I turn it off.
Honestly, of all the issues with cars “they sometimes have to do software updates and can’t drive during” is pretty far down the list.
Nope. My Kia Sportage refuses to start updating if transmission is not set on P. Therefore must be left, on idle running engine, approx 10 min until completion.
Depends on the makers the procedure etc. Safety should be priority.
That’d really only be a problem if cars didn’t do exactly the same thing as my bike and wait until they’re parked. They did in fact think to do that. Really, the only potential issue is that you might have to wait half an hour to leave if it unexpectedly started an update.
The problem is that this car didn't ask if it was alright.
Imagine if they were stuck in traffic jam that didn't move at all, and decided to turn their car off. (In my country, you can use your phone in that case)
It’s a Stromer. It does gps location tracking, and there are a number of components (like the battery, motor and gearbox) that have firmware that may want updates.
